hi. debian doesn't want to install properly on my aspire one, but opensuse do, so i guess i'm switching. In po/html-help-install.*.po and po/html-help-boot.*.po you must not translate the <placeholder-X/ tags, please. I mean, none does any spell checking. This was working last round (using 10.3) What I need is: Spanish [spanish] but it is not listed. The "Unknown [spanish]" works only for a short while after selecting "aspell" then back. After a while it stops (wrong words are not colored "red"). Clues? [opensuse-translation] Adding Georgian language

Hello, I want to start working and introduce new language for opensuse users and make this distro more interesting and user friendly for georgians, so please add me to the localization project as team coordinator. Previously I was working on many projects like Gnome, Mozilla, Openoffice and actively on the KDE and Fedora as project coordinator and team lead and I am very familiar with all process including development and QA and with all translators from other distro projects also. I want to join you now, because from now I have a lot of time for it after two-year delay and I can start active development next week, I hope we will have new language for next release :) My preferences: Novell Login: GioMac Email: giomac(a)gmail.com Name: George Surname: Machitidze Localized Name: გიორგი Localized Surname: მაჩიტიძე Localization Language and Code: Georgian, ka, ka_GE Preferrable Languages order: Georgian, English, Russian, German Please send me recommendation for next step, for now main issue is tu have Georgian language in the list of language selection, because many programs are already available in this language and I want to make it available for users as soon as possible without manually changing any values in /etc/sysconfig/language file. [opensuse-translation] Merging yast again for 11.1

New yast pot files are available and the merging process is running. Note, some changes are still pending--quoting Jiri: multipath.pot (might be removed if we do not finish it in time) support.pot (there is ECO for late delivery) printer.pot (probably by the end of this week) [I think, it is mostly done now (ke)] additionally, ntsutils.pot will probably vanish (some of the texts will be moved to support, that's why I let it stay). Additionally, expect weekly updates because of bugfixes and late features. Hi all, I'm a translator for the Italian localization and I've found a strange entry inside lnc/update-desktop-files-kde.po: #: /opt/kde3/share/applications/kde/boson-boson.desktop msgctxt "GenericName(boson-boson.desktop)" msgid "CGenericName=Real-time strategy gameC Clone" msgstr "Clone di gameC di strategia CGenericName=Real-time" It seems quite different from other entries because it contains "CGenericName=" inside msgid string and I'm not able to understand which is the game boson is a clone of. I don't think it is gameC. Can someone tell me if the msgid string is correct and the name of the game boson is a clone of? [opensuse-translation] Preparing first translation round 11.1

I'm about to prepare the files for the first translation round (openSUSE 11.1). This round will last just one week, thus it is more for checking whether everything is in place where it should. 1/ The 'yast' directory is ready now. Thus far it is known, that the following files will come later: printer support smolt and other files will probably get changed during the next days. 2/ The 'lcn' directory will be ready by tomorrow evening (CEST, that's German time). We will start the main translation round on Friday, September 19th. Hi ! I translated V2G http://os-translation.com.ar/ to french but as you can see on this screenshot : http://guillaume.gardet.free.fr/libre/v2g/v2g.png the sentences are longer in french than it is in english and the result is unreadable for "remember me" and "login"... Could you fix it, please? I cannot translate it shorter... Otherwise, I will revert it and leave it in english. Moreover, "username" translation is "nom d'utilisateur" and the result is "nom d\\'utilisateur" because of php maybe ? [opensuse-translation] V2G upload problems

Hello, First, congratulations for the new V2G :-) Sadly, I have been experiencing problems uploading files with V2G, yesterday and today. Yesterday, uploading a file (gnome-packagekit.fr.po) from the left part of the upload dialog wasn't working (yellow warning icon simply saying there was an error uploading the file). Today, this part works but the right part of the dialog says "The file is not in the correct status to be uploaded", even though the file (kupdateapplet.fr.po) is assigned to me. Clicking Confirm says "There are no valid files to confirm. If you think this is incorrect contact the administrator with the following transaction id 276-4004190609-56". Additionally, the Cancel and close buttons stop working in the dialog after this message, making it impossible to close. Could an administrator look into these matters, please? [opensuse-translation] irc meeting - some comments

Hi Zonker and all! During our first meeting (marketing team) I said that the information for translator are spread over the openSUSE wiki, we don't have a central point, ok we have the Teams page, but we have one page for the distro translation (i18n.opensuse.org) another for the wiki translation (http://en.opensuse.org/Translation_Team) and a third one for documentation (http://en.opensuse.org/Documentation_Team) been the last one is with less translations, just english and deutch. And if I or we want to translate the manuals we have to have a medium knowledge to get the sources, extract it, convert the .xml to .pot files or edit the xml itself, translate it and repacking again or create an OBS account to do that (and learn how to use it)... And another thing that I can't found for translation are the man pages for openSUSE especific programs like zypper, yast, locks, and so one...
