[opensuse-translation] Preparing first translation round 11.1

I'm about to prepare the files for the first translation round (openSUSE 11.1). This round will last just one week, thus it is more for checking whether everything is in place where it should. 1/ The 'yast' directory is ready now. Thus far it is known, that the following files will come later: printer support smolt and other files will probably get changed during the next days. 2/ The 'lcn' directory will be ready by tomorrow evening (CEST, that's German time). We will start the main translation round on Friday, September 19th. Hi ! I translated V2G http://os-translation.com.ar/ to french but as you can see on this screenshot : http://guillaume.gardet.free.fr/libre/v2g/v2g.png the sentences are longer in french than it is in english and the result is unreadable for "remember me" and "login"... Could you fix it, please? I cannot translate it shorter... Otherwise, I will revert it and leave it in english. Moreover, "username" translation is "nom d'utilisateur" and the result is "nom d\\'utilisateur" because of php maybe ? [opensuse-translation] V2G upload problems

Hello, First, congratulations for the new V2G :-) Sadly, I have been experiencing problems uploading files with V2G, yesterday and today. Yesterday, uploading a file (gnome-packagekit.fr.po) from the left part of the upload dialog wasn't working (yellow warning icon simply saying there was an error uploading the file). Today, this part works but the right part of the dialog says "The file is not in the correct status to be uploaded", even though the file (kupdateapplet.fr.po) is assigned to me. Clicking Confirm says "There are no valid files to confirm. If you think this is incorrect contact the administrator with the following transaction id 276-4004190609-56". Additionally, the Cancel and close buttons stop working in the dialog after this message, making it impossible to close. Could an administrator look into these matters, please? Hi Zonker and all! During our first meeting (marketing team) I said that the information for translator are spread over the openSUSE wiki, we don't have a central point, ok we have the Teams page, but we have one page for the distro translation (i18n.opensuse.org) another for the wiki translation (http://en.opensuse.org/Translation_Team) and a third one for documentation (http://en.opensuse.org/Documentation_Team) been the last one is with less translations, just english and deutch. And if I or we want to translate the manuals we have to have a medium knowledge to get the sources, extract it, convert the .xml to .pot files or edit the xml itself, translate it and repacking again or create an OBS account to do that (and learn how to use it)... And another thing that I can't found for translation are the man pages for openSUSE especific programs like zypper, yast, locks, and so one... We will grant you SVN commit rights. The first one who applies will become the team coordinator. Dear translators, I filled this bug during beta stage of openSUSE 11.0: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=391836 The bug is that, only in KDE 4.0, when launching Yast from the menu, it doesn't apear fully localised. When launching from a terminal, it apears localised. I wondered if this bug occured in any other language than mine? If yes, are there any other bug filled in? If you've got the same problem with other languages, please inform me and vote for that bug. Best Khoem, This is'nt a KDE related issue. I had the same yesterday on my openSuse for Walloon. For 10.3, the retail box included a double DVD. For the 11.0 it's a single one. Result, with all aded features (KDE4...), no more space on this single double layer DVD, not all translation are shipped in as it was in the past. You should download the Add-on language CD or add on-line repositories at the start of installation (or after with Yast, what you did). I think it's a mistake but it's their choice. The problem is that they don't say it on the box and that you're thinking that everything should be in the box. For a market point of view, it makes more sense sinds it's for sale, so they choose the main languages. With walloon team we're considering to make a Live-CD with standard openSUSE but in Walloon with the future Suse studio so we'll be able to promote it more easily (via free CD's) because today's way of installing suse is very easy in English (live CD's, DVD box) but less than before for small languages (in the past l10n packages for things like kde use to be in the main DVD and add-on language CD had only things like OpenOffice.org) But I can understand why they do so. Steffen re-worked the framework around boot loader help files and I started with my share. To you as the translator it should still llok the same as before modulo msgstr cleanups and thus many fuzzies. This is the workflow taking place in 'lcn': We now have small html files in 50-html/$project which are displayed from the boot loader, if you press a help button. 50-html/Makefile concatenates the small html files to 50-html/${project}.html and builds 50-html/${project}.pot . Merging takes place as usual and you can translate the $LL/po/${project}.$LL.po files. Hi all! Looking in bug 402885 (https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=402885) from the spanish fellows, makes me remember something that I felt when doing a revision in the zypper.*.po file for my language... I found that some strings that I think was fully translated, in fact wasn't(the help messages --help). There where some new options and they where not marked as fuzzy, for example the "--new-recomends" that the bug talks. I think it was my fault, but seeing this bug I start thinking that was some automaticaly update without marking as fuzzy.
