Hi, Karl and all other local translators: Please watch bug 801311: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=801311 (There's also a software bug in it and has been assigned, so I can't assign it to Karl at the same time) Our yast/50-pot/gtk.pot is now only 48 strings, comparing to 321 strings in qt-pkg.pot Some former commit before 12.3 destroyed all strings for the GTK interface. (ViewVC is currently broken, so I can't tell which commit) So we may have to re-do the work for a big update. Just reserve some time in your schedule, or your locale will be broken for the entire 12.3 life cycle! [opensuse-translation] Possible UI enhancements for Weblate?

Hi, when I go to Weblate dashboard, I see table listing projects and percentages of their translation (several columns). In top-right corner of the table, there is little icon allowing to set which columns I wish to see. When I log in, all except "untranslated" are checked. I use to check also this last column, because I wish to see all statistics. But next time I go to the dashboard, Weblate does not remember this choice and I must set it again. Is it possible to somehow save this settings? I have all openSUSE projects on the dashboard. When I scroll down, he header disappears. Is it possible to have the table with sticky header? So that the header would be visible even if I scroll down? These would be small, but nice improvements. Does anyone else has such requirements? If we agree on them, we could create a polite request on the GitHub. Hello, I can now see a lot of empty packages in Weblate which belong to a packages-18n directory. I have nothing to translate from in these. I just assume that I see them because Weblate is now showing all that there is to anyone, but they are only intended to (or full of content for) SLE languages. Is it right? Hi. As SUSE Linux Enterprise 12 Service Pack 3 is on its way, and packages are no more connected with the master/Tumbleweed branch, I just opened libzypp and zypper for the community edits again. There are some suggestions from the very late stage that missed SLE12 SP3 and Leap 42.3. [opensuse-translation] Sorting of package names in Weblate

Currently, the strings in ‘packages-in’ are sorted *alphabetically* in Weblate. This makes it unncessarily hard to translate them (and to ensure consistency and high quality translations), as we lose all context, since, e.g. the name/summary of a package is in a completely different place in the translation file than its description. And related strings (e.g. of the package, foo, foo-devel, foo-lib, foo-bar, foo-baz) are scattered all over the file. Could this be fixed? It looks like in the translation templates, a natural ordering is used (i.e., the strings are sorted by package name, *not* by the content of the strings): https://github.com/openSUSE/packages-i18n/blob/master/50-pot/b.pot This is the best way to sort the strings, as the ‘summary’ string of a package is always followed by the corresponding ‘description’ string, and related strings (e.g. of baloo5, baloo5-file, baloo5-import, baloo5-kioslaves etc.) are grouped to together. But in the *PO* files generated from the POT files (and the translation strings) shown in Weblate, this perfect ordering of strings have been destroyed, and the strings are sorted alphabetically: https://github.com/openSUSE/packages-i18n/blob/master/fr/po/b.fr.po From what I can see, this is caused by giving the ‘-s’ argument to msgmerge here in the file, which sorts the strings alphabetically, so they no longer match the POT file: https://github.com/openSUSE/packages-i18n/blob/master/50-tools/mergepo.sh If this is true, fixing this problem should just involve removing the ‘-s’ argument. Could this be fixed? [opensuse-translation] Attention, action required: slide show translations outdated!

Hi, There have been several complaints that the slide show was not shown fully translated in the installer. So far we unfortunately assumed a mistake in packaging. Thanks to Sarah not giving up I just found the real cause which were po files not matching the pot. That is fixed now but means translations have to be updated now. This affects *all* languages. Hi, I'm now testing openSUSE Leap 42.3 beta. Found the last block of license agreement (starting with "As required by US law, you represent"...) is not translated. The source code of this license agreement https://github.com/openSUSE/skelcd-openSUSE/blob/master/license/TEMPLATE has no corresponding block (so that I cannot translate it via Weblate). Should this block be translated or removed? Hello, I do not know if I am the only one. I cannot login into https://l10n.opensuse.org/ for two day. It is only trying to reach login page after pressing of Login. Time limit gone and nothing. There are lot of error bars "OpenID discovery error: Error fetching XRDS document: <urlopen error [Errno 113] No route to host>" after return to https://l10n.opensuse.org/. Can you please somebody help me. [opensuse-translation] Command-line downloading of OpenSUSE translation files from Weblate

Hi! Does anyone here have any experience downloading and uploading translations from Weblate? From what I can see, there’s an API (https://docs.weblate.org/en/latest/api.html#) but I find it quite complex, and I couldn’t get it to work. Basically, what I want to do is in principle very simple: 1. Download all .po files for a given language. 2. Download all template files (.pot files). 3. Upload all .po files for a given language to Weblate (overwriting any existing translations).
