hi. debian doesn't want to install properly on my aspire one, but opensuse do, so i guess i'm switching. [opensuse-translation] Adding Georgian language

Hello, I want to start working and introduce new language for opensuse users and make this distro more interesting and user friendly for georgians, so please add me to the localization project as team coordinator. Previously I was working on many projects like Gnome, Mozilla, Openoffice and actively on the KDE and Fedora as project coordinator and team lead and I am very familiar with all process including development and QA and with all translators from other distro projects also. I want to join you now, because from now I have a lot of time for it after two-year delay and I can start active development next week, I hope we will have new language for next release :) My preferences: Novell Login: GioMac Email: giomac(a)gmail.com Name: George Surname: Machitidze Localized Name: გიორგი Localized Surname: მაჩიტიძე Localization Language and Code: Georgian, ka, ka_GE Preferrable Languages order: Georgian, English, Russian, German Please send me recommendation for next step, for now main issue is tu have Georgian language in the list of language selection, because many programs are already available in this language and I want to make it available for users as soon as possible without manually changing any values in /etc/sysconfig/language file. [opensuse-translation] irc meeting - some comments

Hi Zonker and all! During our first meeting (marketing team) I said that the information for translator are spread over the openSUSE wiki, we don't have a central point, ok we have the Teams page, but we have one page for the distro translation (i18n.opensuse.org) another for the wiki translation (http://en.opensuse.org/Translation_Team) and a third one for documentation (http://en.opensuse.org/Documentation_Team) been the last one is with less translations, just english and deutch. And if I or we want to translate the manuals we have to have a medium knowledge to get the sources, extract it, convert the .xml to .pot files or edit the xml itself, translate it and repacking again or create an OBS account to do that (and learn how to use it)... And another thing that I can't found for translation are the man pages for openSUSE especific programs like zypper, yast, locks, and so one... Hi ! the following repo : http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/devel:/translation/ provides poedit for 10.3 and factory but not for 11.0! why? I'd like to remind you that Novell Globalization Services improved and translated many files for SLE10 SP2, and, of course, you are allowed to use these files and translations for updating the files in trunk. This could also be useful because some pieces from SLE10 SP2 will probably now surface in the trunk for openSUSE 11.1.
