SuSE 8.2 und FritzCard PCI 2

Hallo, es gibt ja inzwischen schon einige Berichte über gelungene Installationen. Will mir 8.2 in den nächsten Tagen kaufen. Ich habe aber eine Frage: Ist die Installation der FritzCard PCI 2 problemlos - auch zum Faxen? Wäre richtig toll. Gued gohn Achim

Mahlzeit, ich hatte mit der Suse8.1 kein Problem mit ISDN ins Netz zu kommen, aber mit der 8.2-Version habe ich jetzt ein Problem, bei dem ich nicht mehr weiter weiß. Zunächst meine Hardware: - Dell Inspiron 8100 Notebook - AVM Fritzcard PCMCIA Was bei mir funktioniert: Das PCMCIA-System funktioniert scheinbar gut, jedenfalls zeigt mir das Programm cardinfo meine Fritzcard in Slot1 an. Der smpppd geht auch, jedenfalls sagt das "rcsmpppd status". Die Einrichtung des ISDN-Zugangs zu meinem Provider mit Yast2 klappt auch reibungslos. Über weitere Komponenten des ISDN-Systems, kann ich jetzt nichts sagen, weil mein Know-How dazu nicht reicht. Unten kommt noch ein Ausschnitt aus meiner /var/log/messages, der den Profis vielleicht etwas sagt. Das Problem: Jedesmal wenn ich mit KInternet ein Verbindung aufbauen will, passiert nichts. Keine Fehlermeldung aber auch keine Internet-Verbindung. Auch kein Eintrag im KInternet-Protokoll. Allerdings taucht für jeden vergeblichen Verbindungsversuch eine Zeile wie "Apr 4 20:31:19 linux kernel: isdn_ppp_bind: Can't find a (free) connection to the ipppd daemon." in der /var/log/messages-Datei auf. Unter Suse8.1 musste ich noch in der Datei /etc/sysconfig/pcmcia den Wert PCMCIA_SYSTEM auf "external" setzen, aber das hat hier nicht geholfen. Ich hoffe, dass die Leute, die die Suse8.2-ISDN-Skripte und -Tools geschrieben haben, mir helfen können. Weitere Infos und Protokoll-Ausschnitte liefere ich natürlich gerne, denn ohne Internet-Zugang taugt das beste Betriebssystem nichts. Es ist ziemlich doof, dass ich für jeden Internet-Kontakt, also auch für diese Mailingsliste, mein olles Windows booten darf. faxen mit capisuite / SuSE 8.2

Hallo Liste, das Empfangen mit capisuite klappt einwandfrei . Das Versenden dauert teilweise mehrere Stunden. Wo kann ich den festlegen, dass capisuite das Fax sofort versendet? Vielen Dank Olaf

Hallo, ich habe auf einem PC ein Dial In Zugang eingerichtete. Die IP Adresse vom Server und Client wird richtig übermittelt. Die Netzwerkmaske liegt immer bei 255.255.255.255. Ich möchte aber 255.255.255.0. Jetzt soll aber auch ein Gateway für den anrufenden Client übermittelt werden bzw. DNS Server. Es scheint als wenn die options Datei nicht ausgewertet. Fetchmail

Hallo allerseits! Weiss zufälligerweise ein freundlicher Mensch hier, was fetchmail macht, wenn es über einen cron-job zweimal gestartet wird? Ich rufe alle 10 Minuten mit Cron und Fetchmail Mails ab. Ich hatte heute das Problem, daß da drei Riesenmails dabei waren, die offensichtlich länger als 10 Minuten gebraucht haben (habe halt nur DSL Light). Und irgendwie hat das System dann einen Abgang gemacht... zumindest alles was mit DSL, ISDN und Mail zu tun hatte, reagierte nicht mehr. Kann das daran liegen, daß fetchmail per Cron mit einer zweiten Instanz gestartet wurde und mit dem Download der Mails wieder von vorne anfing oder hat das andere Gründe? Ist da jemand etwas weniger ahnungslos wie ich? Bis dann, Wolfgang

Hallo! Ich habe es jetzt doch hinbekommen, dass der Faxversand (mittels c2fasend) und -empfang klappt. Leider funzt der Versand von Faxen mit "sendfax" nicht. Hier die Fehlermail: Ihr facsimile an 123456789 wurde nicht gesendet weil eine Konvertierung in das Faxformat fehlgeschlagen ist. Bei der Fritz!Classic kann es auch an verdeckten Konflikten mit anderen Karten liegen (verdaechtig sind ISA Sound und Netzwerkkarten), auch kann es Probleme mit dem ISA Bus geben (Pegelprobleme auf Grund der geaenderten ISA Pegel). Automatisches ISDN-Dialin und SuSEfirewall2 unter SuSE 8.1

Ich gebe hier nur mal weiter, auf welches Problem ich bei der EInrichtung eines automatischen ISDN-Dialin in Zusammenhang mit der Aktivierung des SuSEfirewall2 (anstelle des personal-firewall) gestossen bin und wie einfach dieses gelöst wurde: Konfiguration: - SuSE Linux 8.1 - AVM FritzCard PCI! (wahrscheinlich hier belanglos) - Online-Updates vom Stand 18.03.2003 eingespielt Problem: Nach Konfiguration des SuSEfirewall mit Yast (Security->Firewall) versagt jeglicher Netzwerkverkehr mit dem Internet, lediglich die ISDN-Verbindung steht. In /var/log/messages tauchen Meldungen der Form -- schnipp -- Apr 2 07:40:16 myhost kernel: SuSE-FW-ILLEGAL-TARGET IN=ippp0 OUT= MAC= SRC=<IP_Adr1> DST=<IP_Adr2> LEN=66 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=61 ID=0 DF PROTO=UDP SPT=53 DPT=1045 LEN=46 -- schnapp -- auf, obwohl die Services "domain" bzw. "53" schon erlaubt worden sind. In Mailinglisten gab es ausserdem zum gleichen Problem Kommentare, dass erst nach Restart des Firewall bei zu erhaltender ISDN-Verbindung alles wie vorgegeben funktioniert. Lösung: /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-ippp0: Eintrag FIREWALL auf "yes" setzen, ist leer. Frage an SuSE-Experten: Kann man das nicht irgendwie gleich über den YAST automatisch einstellen? Oder habe ich da eine Sicherheitslücke übersehen? René
