But it does exist :-) The "rcCOMAND" were symlinks to old init scripts, for shorter typing. They have been kept with systemd. The long and modern version is: systemctl restart network And does what the name would suggest. No, no manpage, perhaps a mention in a book. You will not find a man page to the old and shorthand version. [opensuse] unwanted error messages

Running Leap 42.3. In my messages files I repeatedly receive "You have modified /etc/resolv.conf" error messages. I would like to turn off this check. Or find out how to make my resolve.conf look like what opensuse is expecting. [opensuse] xtables-addons kernel modules package

Hello. I can't seem to find the xtables-addons-kmp-default package for current leap 15 kernels. I like to keep my system running the latest supplied opensuse kernel, but would really like to make use of the xtables functionality in my firewall. Is there some way that I can build the modules for the latest kernel (4.12.14-lp150.12.10-default)? [opensuse] Fax vulnerability

It the past few days it's been announced that there is a vulnerability in many "fax machines" (more accurately, all-in-one printers with fax capabilities). I've tracked down and downloaded a tarball, but have found very little info about it. The contents of the tarball look like a mix of a website and a python program with some C code and printer drivers and other stuff thrown in. Should I start wading through all that, or will there be an update coming out from Suse? [opensuse] opensuse 15.1

I was informed that opensuse Leap 15.1 did not exist at the current time. But on "openSUSE download server" I fine the directory: http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/leap/15.1/repo/oss/x86_64/ which is populated. Any ideas on why we have a directory full of RPMs for Leap 15.1 it it does not exist? [opensuse] Question re why part of a magazine article does not print

I printed out this article- https://au.pcmag.com/software/138/guide/the-best-vpn-services-of-2018 but the table at the beginning of the article won't print -- the printing begins with the Heading then skips the table of the various VPNs and continues from "VPNs Keep You Safe Online". I had to use the Firefox Add-on 'Screengrab' to save that table to a file and then printed that *.png file. Any thoughts as to why that table will not print as part of that article but has to be saved as a separate file in order to print it? (Using Leap 15.0 [with kernel 4.17.11-3], Firefox v 60.0.1esr, and the printer is Epson Expression Photo XP-960.) I just opened the User Manager in desktop settings. I see that none of the users are listed and I can't even add one. Is this a new "feature"? [opensuse] CANBus experience

Anyone using a CANBus card with openSUSE? We will soon have a MobilEye device that we want to test integrating with our system. And it speaks CANBus. We are on our own to provide the CANBus card. So something that is known to play nice with Linux/openSUSE is what we are looking for.
