Mount Windows NT(NTFS) drive as drive Z: for all users

We have an winNT server and need to auto mount a shared folder as if it were a windose mapped drive Z: on SuSE8 Could someone please explain how to do this and how to make sure it is set-up for every user everytime the system is booted. Thanks Regards Keith Jacobs New to Linux

Adding fonts?

Hi all, Reading some mails on the GIMP mail list, I ran across the procedure to install some more fonts for not only Gimp, but the system and StarOffice to use also. Well, I installed the fonts, went to the shell and issued the command xset fp+ <font directory> and then the rehash command and all fonts are there! Ok, that went well, but each time I restart the system, I have to do it all over again? [opensuse] Where can I get genIS_PLAINcache

Hi, I am trying to set up a simple repo, I read on the opensuse site about a binary called genIS_PLAINcache, because I can't see to find it or the package yast2-packmanager either. Can someone help. Hey, for all of you KDE3 hold outs, someone's finally taking the initiative to fork it to a new project: http://trinity.pearsoncomputing.net/ So far, they're only maintaining .deb packages for Ubuntu, but if you want to see KDE3 live on, it might be worth starting a project on the OBS. [opensuse] openSUSE 11.3 2.6.34.7-0.2-xen no boot possible

Hi, I have done a fresh openSUSE 11.3 (32bit) install on a Lenovo ThinkCentre M58p 6234-1AG (C2D E8400, Q45 Express, GMA 4500, 82567LM-3). First problem was, that the network card was not recognized, I had to build in a second one. Fortunately after updating the system and a reboot, also the 82567LM-3 was working. With the normal Kernel 2.6.34.7-0.2-desktop the system works, but if I try to but with the Xen-Kernel 2.6.34.7-0.2-xen, the boot begins, but suddenly stops in a very early state. The last messages I see are: Doing fast boot Creating ... Then the screen goes blank and finaly in sleep mode. To reboot I have to power off and then power on again the system :-( In the Grub-menu.lst originally I had: ###Don't change this comment - YaST2 identifier: Original name: xen### title Xen -- openSUSE 11.3 - 2.6.34.7-0.2 root (hd0,0) kernel /xen.gz vgamode=0x317 vgamode=0x317 module /vmlinuz-2.6.34.7-0.2-xen root=/dev/...part6 resume=/dev /...part2 splash=silent quiet showopts vga=0x317 module /initrd-2.6.34.7-0.2-xen I already tried to remove the second "vgamode"-entry, finaly all "vgamode" and "vga"-options and set "splash=0" but this did not helped, "nomodeset" is not doing anything too (I think it's only for Nvidia). [opensuse] Patch management for OpenSUSE

Hello, I am wondering since some time how others cope with patch management on OpenSUSE Clients, when you have a bunch of PCs in a network. Somebody who can recommend a open source tool to cover the basics (e.g. a tool automating updates with zypper over ssh or something similar)? Thanks! [opensuse] Serial to USB adaptor

I am looking on ebay at a serial-to-usb adapter to use with a trackball that has a serial connector on its cable. This thing comes with a CD for Windows. Does anyone know if this is something I can use on a Linux machine?
