[opensuse] Changing hibernate behaviour.

Hi, I wrote a /usr/lib/systemd/system-sleep/mine-sleep script. The rest appears to work. [opensuse] NetworkManager issues: can't disable (a) wpa_ ... wifi and (b) dhcp_client

I've had no end of problems with NetworkManager but seem to be converging on a solution. I have a config file /etc/system-connections/ethernet that seems reasonable, built with the CLI level "nm" tools. Nowhere in any of the config do I have anything that indicates I am running wifi or have wifi hardware on this desktop. That file described a static configuration But when I run nmcli con up ethernet and I get a network connection, the wpa-supplicant starts and a dhcp client starts and I get a dhcp address (.66) and some weird but valid entries in /etc/resolv.conf that are not the ones I specify in the config file (aka 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4) I'm manually killing the wpa and dhcp processes and manually resetting the address and route and resolver entries after boot. I *think* I can solve the issue of static addresses if I can figure a way to make this NOT start wpa and dhcp in the first place. Maybe. [opensuse] How to set Tor Browser as the default

Now that I got my fancy new Tor Browser installed, up and running I quickly hit the next snag, and Google is not being my friend... Anyone got any ideas on how to both make it my default browser and how to coerce Thunderbird into launching a Tor Browser window if/when I click on a link in and email? I have tried a few things, such as pointing the KDE file association for .html files and setting the default web browser to point at the start-tor-browser.desktop script but it just sticks its tongue out at me and tells me to go fly a kite if I already have an open Tor Browser.... "Tor Browser is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Tor Browser process, or restart your system." I don't understand why it simply cannot open a new window, Firefox did when I was using it as my default browser. All, First, things went OK on the latest kernel update for Leap 42.2, but the output was horrendous. I fully anticipated problems based on the update output, but surprisingly, it all turned out OK. [opensuse] USB tether to smart phone

I often tether my computer to my smart phone via WiFi. However, if I run Windows, I can also tether via USB. Is this possible in openSUSE? [opensuse] segfault after auto-update of xorg-x11-server

Had a segfault on my Leap 42.1 / LXDE (gtk). Grub2 selection screen was fine but then a blackscreen: no luks password prompt, no desktop. The 29th March updates had xorg-x11-server which I guessed was the culprit. I did a snapper rollback to the pre- of those 29th March updates and that worked fine. Because I've been ill with the flu - went to the hospital for a minor 'hardware repair' and while there I caught a virus :-/ I'm not really inclined to mess with a bugzilla for this at this time, nor even check if one has already been filed. 42.1 is dead in a month or two anyway so I am probably just going to upgrade to 42.2 now and hope this xorg bug isn't there also. SO... question is this: if anyone wants the full info on this segfault (Xorg.0.log, lxdm.log, whatever) please let me know and I'll send it on to you.
