[opensuse] little annoyance with amaroK and audio streams

Hi all, one of the good things about the internet is... streaming radio :) At home I use amaroK as audio player and it plays streams and everything like a charm... so far, so good (so what?) Now the problem is... once the program being streamed comes to an end, amaroK doesn't know how to resume and doesn't start playing the next one, so I have to click on [stop] and again on [start]... I tried with different streams from different broadcasters and the problem is the same, so I guess amaroK is the one to blame... Any ideas or suggestions? (besides doing the stop/start thing...) Hi Is there any way to configure powermanagement to use the "conservative" governor and not "ondemand" when the cpu policy is set to "dinamic" As Yast sysconfig editor states for /etc/sysconfig/powersave/cpufreq: "These are by default (kernel module - governor/powersave policy): ondemand/dynamic, powersave/powersave, performance/performance" So,how can i override the default pair "ondemand/dinamic"? This probably has a simple answer, but I've gone through the System menu, yast menu, and Mailing list archives without any luck. After upgrading to opensuse 11.0, my session automatically locks after a short period of time. It's annoying to always have to unlock after getting a coffee, but other than that - I'd rather lock the session if and when I want to lock it - not when the OS decides. So... As those articles point out, you have to unmount the ext3 partition, even under LVM, to resize it. That means if you want to resize a critical partition like /boot, /, /var, /usr or in come cases /home and /tmp, you have to shut down and boot from a LiveCD or USB. This is not always possible with an enterprise system as the need t expand the volume/FS size may, like having the machine up and running, be critical to the business. The ReiserFS, however, can be resized while mounted. I'd advise using the ResiserFS if you ever need to do a live re-sizing. <snip> How about XFS? Can that be resized while mounted? [opensuse] Yast ncurses Software Management in 11.0 - Why no keyboard shortcuts anymore?

Listmates, Text mode yast in 11.0 is missing all of the shortcut keys for search, etc... I thought it must have been an oversight and would be fixed, but after 4 months, they are still not there. Specifically if you go into software management, you can select Alt+F for "Filter", but then all of the shortcut keys are missing for "Patterns", "Languages", "RPM Groups", "Repositories", "Search" (most importantly), and "Installation Summary". Is this a bug or did somebody mean to strip the shortcuts out? Also, the "search" layout is more cumbersome now. Once you select search, you then have to use Alt+P to get to the search phrase text box and then after you enter the search, you have to type Alt+S to actually start the search, the normal return key does nothing. In 10.3, the focus went to the search box automatically, and then a simple return executed the search. Again, is this a bug or this this new (lack of) functionality? Thanks -- David C.
