[opensuse] installing KDE4 on 10.3 using smart

Is it possible to install KDE4 using smart, if so what is the command. If not, does anybody have the web address where I can download the rpm's to get the basic packages running. Also, is there a way to i-click install a package group such as gnome (for instance)? [opensuse] Bootable 'Repair Installation' for 10.3

Hello list, The 'repair' feature has helped me before and it would be good to have it at hand, for when I (inevitably) bork my shiny new 10.3 install. The original 'repair installation' option on the DVD was broken. Now the yast module has been fixed, can you tell me how to get/make a bootable 'repair installation' rescue disk to replace it? Guys, I got a problem and upgrading isn't an answer at this time. Ref: 10.3 GM 32b IBM thinkpad x40 both with track point and logitech notebook compiz-fusion or kwin under kde The middle mouse sometimes works most of the time requires double click to accomplish an action like paste. This behavior manifest in xterm as well as any other application like firefox or compiz-fusion. I will describe the setup (I use the default created by 10.3 installation) under yast/hardware/mouse model Mouse: IBM TPPS/2 Track Point Checked: Activate mouse wheel Emulate wheel with mouse 2 When I tested and press the middle button 1. the mouse image does not give the indication you press the button 2. The text does not change 3. If I do double click the text show the double click and release. The image does not change 4. The left, right and wheel all work as supposed to both given a graphic indication and a text indication. 5. Under 10.2 it works OK. Using it in application the behavior is the same. To make it work I have to do double click. [opensuse] gnomesu question

When I used gnomesu in the past (under 9.3 and SLES), if I typed gnomesu, I would get a dialog box pop up and it would ask for the command to run and the password. Alternatively, I could also enter "gnomesu 'command'" Now I have 10.3 and I see a difference. (Granted things change over time.) Now, if I type gnomesu, immediately I get a dialogue box that asks for my password, but not the command. The command is already defaulted to 'gnome-terminal.' I guess I can just as easily type in gnomesu 'command', as it is clearly not a showstopper. But I wonder why the gnomesu dialog box no longer offers a command line of its own? [opensuse] 10.3: thunderbird does not open weblinks

Hi, I am using 10.3/32bit with KDE and use Thunderbird/Mozilla for Mail and Surfing the web. I did a clean install from scratch, not an update. However I preserved my /home/username directory. With 10.2 I had thunderbird open firefox when I clicked on a web link inside a mail. Now I found to my surprise, that this no longer works. When I click on a weblink, nothing happens. I installed the about:config extension for thunderbird and found that the strings for network.protocol-handler.app.http and network.protocol-handler.app.https did NOT exist. I added them and set the values appropriately to /usr/bin/firefox and now it works. My question: Is this common behaviour, i.e. a bug of some sort or am I the only one having this problem? I just realized that I have a microphone on my laptop (Compaq nw9440). What software would I use to do - say - voice messaging or IM with voice? Does Kopete handle voice or would I need Gaim. [opensuse] How do I blacklist modules for the onboard audio card?

With every boot the onboard audio card interferes with the PCI Soundblaster card. I think the problem is caused by the modules being loaded for the onboard audio card at each boot.
