[opensuse] Adding user images using Personal settings window in KDE

I'm trying to add images to user accounts using the Personal Settings tool in KDE on my 10.3 box, but I seem to ran into a snag. I'm going through Configure Desktop -> Security & Privacy -> Password & User Account. Once there I click on the box to add an image, its says to the right of the box (Click the button to change your image), but when I click on it a window pops up and says "Your administrator has disallowed changing your image.". If this is something that needs root access to do why is there not a 'Administrator Mode' button on the bottom of the page. I know how to add images to users on KDE, now I just want to images with user accounts in general. Anyone know how to do this? [opensuse] CD media mount issues in 10.3?

Hi all, does anybody knows about any reported/known isse/bug about CD medias not showing up in /media. I am using 10.3 + KDE. Konq shows it but I can't see it in /mnt. DVD medias seems to be working OK. Its only the CD medias. [opensuse] Moving Cyrus IMAP mail files

The recent post on the best imap has made me ask the question, how do/should I move my Cyrus Imap files from one server to another. I'll need to be upgrading my suse 10.0 server to 10.3 soon, and I've never had to move my existing mail before. I haven't decided if I'll change boxes, or just do a new install on a different partition on the same box, but in any case will be a clean new install of 10.3 (assuming I can get my graphics issues worked out). If I don't change boxes, I won't be able to have both installs running at the same time, so how do I move the files, or more specifically, which files do I move? [opensuse] OpenSuse 10.3 on ML370 G3

Hi All, I've installed OpenSuse 10.3 on a ML370 G3 Server, however each time I finished the installation. the next initiate boot process will failed, the ML370 G3 server always claimed it can't find the boot partition. I'm using Smart Array to configure raid 1 for my HD. Any body got the same issues? [opensuse] use 10.2 rpm's in 10.3? possible?

Hi, Most of the packages I use are available for 10.3 (32bit). But some of the packages (e.g. QtiPlot, kbibtex) aren't converted yet to 10.3 and are still a 10.2 version. Is it possible to install 10.2 rpm's in 10.3, without messing up my installation? What's the difference between 10.2 and 10.3 packages? [opensuse] pacpl on 10.3

I had pacpl running on SuSe 10.2. I've tried to add it to my 10.3 system. I've looked at 1-click on software.opensuse.org/search and it dowsn't find it. I've tried using smart install pacpl and it finds it on the packman site but complains of no package provides liblirc_client.so.0 I've tried looking for this on rpmfind and it only shows it available for Mandriva only. [opensuse] Will kdepim3 be updated to KDE 3.5.8?

I just checked the KDE repo that was updated to 3.5.8, however kdepim3 was still 3.5.7. Is there any plan for that being updated to 3.5.8, would really like to see some of the kmail fixes come through. [opensuse] Suspend to RAM don't working in OpenSUse 10.3

When I try suspend to RAM at low system mode (init=/bin/bash) with command Echo mem > /sys/power/state My system only turn off hard disks and PC is still working (no turn off fans and monitor.) Display showing blinking cursor and machine is stuck! So I must reset... This command is normaly working in Open Suse 10.2 and Ubuntu 7.04 In BIOS and kernel options for S3 state is enabled. [opensuse] What happened to the $username group?

Much to my surprise I found out that openSUSE doesn't create a group by default with the same name as the username. For example in Gentoo creating the user 'aniruddha' also creates the group 'aniruddha'. This a long time tradition to solve problems caused by using using the 'users' group for home folders.
