[opensuse] "Addons CD" for easy installation

Hi all, I created an "Addon CD" for OpenSuse 10.3 similar to what I released for SLED10. I decided to switch to OpenSuse 10.3 from SLED10 for all of the home computers I setup for people (OpenSuse 10.3 is a very worthy upgrade from SLED10), because of this I needed to create an easy way to add all the software I think people would use. (I install quite a few GNU/Linux machines) This CD was made to be an add-on when using the GNOME install CD (this way I only need to give people 2 CDs), but it can also be used when using the DVD as long as you install the GNOME Desktop. So far I only have an x86 version available. In the future I may have a 64 bit version (if there is a need for it). I am trying to install Amarok from the Packman site but it is complaining about some dependencies it cannot find: libartsgui & flaac. Does anybody know which rpm packages I need and where they are? [opensuse] Apps tabs

[opensuse] KDE + CompizFusion on 10.3 screen lock kscreensaver 1/4 screen issue

I found this already addressed on another distro's bug tracker here : https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/141628 I'm running OS-10.3 98% standard. Using ypm for the Compiz_Fusion install and compiled my own fglrx drivers (YPM drivers worked but Compiz/XGL broke). The symptom is, when I use Ctrl+Alt+L to lock my screen, the screen saver only covers the bottom right 1/4 of my screen. I believe I've found the problem and the fix (lockprocess.cc) from the ubuntu bug tracker but couldn't find this as a submitted bug in 10.3 bug tracker. [opensuse] Startup Apps

[opensuse] NTP Server setup

I'm forwarding this question from a colleague of mine... She's trying to set up an ntp server one one box and ntp client on the other box. The client seems to work fine because when pointing it to a public ntp server, everything works. But when pointing to the internal ntp server, connection is failed. As a test, the firewall has been disabled on the server. What else must be done to make the server an ntp server and accept connections? (rcntp status) Is the client machine a Linux box or a windows box? [opensuse] how to make smb kio slave to preserve date/time stamps

Hi, using 10.3 with KDE 3.5.7, the latest one (all KDE repos are enabled). Using "smb:/" I open a remote shares. But if I write a file to these shares, their last modification date/time is set to the current one, not the one from the original file.
