[opensuse] HP LJ 2015x problem selecting tray

Hello everybody. I have a problem with my HP LaserJet 2015x (2015 with 3rd tray, duplex unit and network) printer: whatever I say to driver, it always takes paper from tray 2. OS is openSuse 10.3 (same was with 10.2). I have tried setting different types of paper in printer and in driver, different sizes (although I only use A4), but with no effect. On test page I see which tray was selected by driver, but printer just ignores it. Best regards, Siniša Bandin

My brother get his ip adres through DHCP from a large college lan, his ip changes with regular intervals. It seems to want .../ooo-2.0 all the way. In /usr/share I found an ooo subdir and a ooo-2.0 subdir. I moved whatever was in ooo ro ooo-2.0 and replaced it with a symlink, just in case something needs it. All this mix up dates back to a long solved fonts problem with V2.1 or 2.2, which necessitated keeping 2 versions around until it was fixed. Thanks for your help - and what a grind. Hello, At my college we have a secured wifi and an unsecured. I can connect to the unsecured just fine, but I can never seem to connect to the secured network using KNetworkManager. I'm using 10.3 GM with all the latest updates. [opensuse] Unable to change bootloader from 10.3

I ran into an odd problem when putting 10.3 on my x86_64 desktop: during installation, when the computer restarts for the first reboot, the system would just hang when trying to boot from the hard drive. It seems like the MBR had somehow become corrupted, but there was no error message. It took me a while to figure out how to proceed. I already had a working 10.1 partition on the same hard drive, but the "Boot installed system" option from the CD grub menu seems to redirect to the HD's MBR, which was broken. After some web browsing I picked up the strange tip to boot from the installation CD, abort the installation, which drops me into a ncurses menu, when you can find another "Boot installed system" option that does not rely on the MBR. First off, it would be nice if that option would be much easier to get to. This way I managed to boot my 10.1 system, and fix the MBR by reinstalling grub in the MBR. By adding the 10.3 partition to the grub menu I was finally able to boot into the new system. Everything seems to work fine now, but there remains one problem: I cannot change the bootloader while using the 10.3 system. When I make any changes in the "Boot Loader" section of Yast and apply them, simply nothing changes. I do not get an error message, and /var/log/Yast2/y2log is so verbose that it's hard to make sense of it if you don't know what you are looking for. The funny thing is that I can change the bootloader just fine while I am working in the 10.1 system on the same hard drive. I can edit grub setting in Yast, which take effect immediately. Does anybody know what might be behind all this, or where I should start looking for potential error messages? I am not too worried since everything is working well right now, but it would be odd to keep the 10.1 partition alive just in case I ever have to change the bootloader. I have qpopper running on my 10.2 box, but am thinking about implementing IMAP. Do any of you have any suggestions as to which IMAP daemon I should try to implement? Also, has anyone tried the 1-Click-Install ATI thing with a Mac Pro and any success with that? [opensuse] pm-utils for 10.3 on Dell Dimension 4100

I've loaded openSUSE 10.3 on a Dell Dimension 4100. The installation is a bare minimum graphics installation with only an X-server handling files for a SlimServer and SqueezeBox. No Gnome or KDE window mgr. The SqueezeBox has the ability to send a Wake-On-LAN event to a suspended computer. I've enabled Wake On LAN within the 4100 BIOS, but I cannot seem to get the machine to suspend, hibernate or go into standby. I'm pretty sure this thing is using APM as the system info from yast reports apm_enabled is set to Yes. However, running pm-suspend as root has no effect on the machine. Does the pm-utils work for APM? Can anyone provide some insight on what to do to trouble shoot this functionality? I've also tried using s2ram (and all the various switches) without success. Can anyone point me in the right direction? [opensuse] Installing from a Windows box

Hi, I'd like to upgrade a 10.2 openSUSE installation to a 10.3, in a laptop that does not have any DVD drive. I may use for the installation a Windows based PC, that is not mine. This PC has a DVD drive, which is set as Master. The idea is to boot from the mini CD (MD5 ok) in my laptop, and then to install through the DHCP-based LAN. On the source PC ("John"), the DVD (openSUSE 10.3, MD5 fine) is shared and has a share name of... DVD. So i boot the mini Cd in the laptop, and go through SMB / CIFS (Windows Share). All seem sto go right (entering the correct IP address of the server (pinged before: ok), taking care of the case sensitive "DVD" share name, etc.) until i get stuck at one point: when i'm prompted to "Enter the directory on the server", i try several combinations but i always get a "No repository found" message. I'm not using any ftp server in the Windows PC, but it should work without, provided that the "directory" is entered the correct way, i think. But what is the information supposed to give, in this situation? Can someone please help me?
