[opensuse] NetworkManager log errors
Hello, At my college we have a secured wifi and an unsecured. I can connect to the unsecured just fine, but I can never seem to connect to the secured network using KNetworkManager. I'm using 10.3 GM with all the latest updates. I was looking at the error logs and I noticed this in /var/logs/NetworkManager: Oct 15 16:16:07 linux-btp syslog-ng[2414]: last message repeated 9 times Oct 15 16:16:08 linux-btp NetworkManager: <info> Error getting killswitch power arguments: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.InvalidArgs - Argument 0 is specified to be of type "uint32", but is actually of type "int32" This message repeats every 1minute and 1second. I'm not sure if this is releated to my problem of not being able to connect to the secured wifi or not. I ask, is this error relevant? And what steps should I take to get the secured wifi working? We just need a passphrase to connect, which I have entered into the NetworkManager upon prompt to no success. Since a passphrase is just a way to get a hex key, have you tried entering the hex key to see if that works? I have seen many times entering the hex key works where the passphrase will not (not necessarily with NetworkManager). -- Joe Morris Registered Linux user 231871 running openSUSE 10.3 x86_64 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I just tried putting in the phrase as hex and it didn't help. Are there any sort of detailed errors as to what is happening? The dialog just says "Could not connect to the network __" which doesn't help much. Its not related. Its bug:
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=310509
for which a maintenance update is being pushed currently.

Nothing serious - and already reported in bugzilla and will be fixed soonish...
