[opensuse] How to set network card options in opensuse 10.3?

I have just upgraded from Opensuse 10.2 to Opensuse 10.3. In Opensuse 10.2, I was able to set network card options at yast2 -> network devices -> network card. In Opensuse 10.3 I cannot set such a network card option. When I go to yast2 -> network devices -> network card, select my network card, select "configure", select the "hardware" tab, I again see an "kernel module" box with left the module name for my network card ("3c59x") and right a text box called "options". However, the box is grayed out and I cannot fill it with the desired value. Any hints how I can do this are very much appreciated. Please note I did not make any hardware modifications when upgrading from opensuse 10.2 to opensuse 10.3. [opensuse] 10.3 : Cannot get ATI fglrx working

10.3 upgrade (reinstall) on thinkpad T60.10.2 was running ATI drivers just fine, also had compiz running great. No matter what I do, I cannot get away from the VESA framebuffer drivers with 10.3. I've downloaded a version of the ATI drivers - 8.40.4 which supports xorg 7.2. The installer runs, apparently OK, aticonfig says it's has fixed the xorg.conf file. However, checking for the fglrx kernel module comes back empty, so I manually loaded the fglrx module with the script in /lib/modules/fglrx, and it now shows up in lsmod. Nonetheless, if I run sax2, I only ever get the vesa FB, non 3D graphics. Running sax2 -r -m 0=fglrx fails, and the log shows no devices found. Any ideas, anyone? Hi, Just installed 10.3@x86_64 (changing from 10.1@x86_32), found some issues and would like to comment them to see if someone else did it too. * VMware Server Got this error trying to run the vmware-server-console: mainwks:~> vmware-server-console /usr/lib/vmware-server-console/bin/vmware-server-console: /usr/lib/vmware-server-console/lib/libpng12.so.0/libpng12.so.0: no version information available (required by /usr/lib/libcairo.so.2) Found some posts telling that i should replace the included libraries in vmware with links to the system libs, so replaced "/usr/lib/vmware-server-console/lib/libpng12.so.0/libpng12.so.0" with a link to "/usr/lib/libpng12.so.0", the error desapeared but it didn't launch the console either * Wine Trying to run ANY program gives me a "Segment violation" mainwks:~> wine /datos/software/GPS/iBlueToolsv2.4build102/setup.exe Violación de segmento mainwks:~> rpm -q wine wine-0.9.44-15 Tried upgrading to wine-0.9.46-12.3 on the buildservice but that didn't change it.. * Firefox In realeases before 10.3 the 32bit firefox was installed instead the 64bit, now it's not the case. I am trying to compile ipw3945 from source, and when I try.. [opensuse] Libgnomecanvas

OK, i have been trying to get libgnomecanvas onto my sled sp1 install, so i can install the latest gtkpod, for almost 2 months. Has anyone out there that uses sled sp1 been able to upgrade from libgnomecanvas 2.12 to libgnomecanvas 2.14 (using the opensuse/gnome:/stable repo) successfully? The last attempts have left me unable to login (gdm just flashes and never lets me login). If anyone has been successfully, that uses sled sp1, please let me know what you had to install (just libgnomecanvas or other packages) to get libgnomecanvas 2.14 working. I am on the phone now with a "code jockey" friend of mine in MN, who does ALL of his .Net teaching all over the Country on a laptop with SUSE with VMWare. With my encouragement, he did a clean install with 10.3 64-bit. He called with the SAME problem I had/have today with a clean 32-bit install - somehow during the install, the password encryption (I'm blaming PAM for this one) gets really messed up and you don't have root NOR the user password any longer. Now, it's still "there" but the system won't let you login. I called Patrick Shanahan wondering if he'd run into this before. I had a long time ago with IBM's unix, but had forgotten all about "shadow." Patrick indicated that I should remove the passwords "aflicted" and that the system would ask for a new password(s). I'll know tomorrow night if that works. It didn't with my buddy from MN tonight, but he has a fingerprint reader on his new laptop and that did "save his bacon". 10.3 wouldn't accept a new password, but the fingerprint reader did recognize the image and he was allowed on the box. I don't know how wide spread this problem is, but we sure don't need a reviewer from ZDNet or elsewhere having the same problem!! [opensuse] GTK styles and fonts in KDE via gnome-control-center for root

Hello. I use KDE and font Tahoma, but i'd like to use also the same fonts for smart, or synaptics(and for all gtk apps). When i set fonts in gnome-contol-center in user account, it'll work great.But when i want to change fonts for root account via gnome-control-center, there is a problem.It doesn't work for me.And fonts in smart and synaptics (and for all gtk include YaST) are other than Tahoma.In KDE control center are GTK styles and fonts enabled also. Any advice?What should i do?
