[opensuse] 13.2 wicked networking, route lost after distro upgrade

hi all, I upgraded long time running system (server) from 13.1 to 13.2 yesterday and I found only one problem. The system does not set the default route after all. The machine started as 12.1 with many upgrades. Here is the situation I have: - yast shows that wicked is used for network handling. There is no option "if-up method" like it was in 13.1 - I have scripts for venet0 interface as it was before vps:/etc/sysconfig/network # cat ifcfg-venet0 STARTMODE=onboot BOOTPROTO=static BROADCAST=0.0.0.0 NETMASK=255.255.255.255 IPADDR=127.0.0.1 IPADDR_0=37.205.9.50 LABEL_0=0 IPADDR_1=2a01:430:17:1::ffff:288 LABEL_1=1 vps:/etc/sysconfig/network # cat ifroute-venet0 default - - venet0 default :: - venet0 - there is no route after the boot vps:/etc/sysconfig/network # route Kernel IP routing table Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface but it's set when I run this command: ip r a default dev venet0 vps:/etc/sysconfig/network # route Kernel IP routing table Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface default * 0.0.0.0 U 0 0 0 venet0 - there is a really suspicious log message 2015-06-16T14:57:27.800276+02:00 vps wicked: /etc/sysconfig/network/ifroute-venet0[1]: Cannot create route - unable to find out address family Where can the problem be, please? Re-sent to the list...] What you've described is like 'dynamic' configuration, where the card is automagically adapting it's active settings to the environment. Have you saved your configuration from within nvidia-settings? I soon learned I had to invoke nvidia-settings from a terminal, as root, and then save the configuration so it 'sticks.' [opensuse] KDE and Windows "moving" to the left screen

Hello. On my OpenSusE 13.2 box I have two screens and I'm using KDE with an Nvidia board. Some time (1 hour +- as far I could check) after that both screen are in power save mode the windows on the right screen (btw the primary screen) are moved to the left screen. Did anyone else notice this boring effect and is there any way to stop this "migration"? Howdy - I am running OpenSuSE13.1 x86_64 and have suddenly and surprisingly experienced a failure with the installation of Bugzilla version 4.4.1.1.1 that I had installed. FWIW I am running it under the Apache server. The main problem I am experiencing has to do with the mail MTA that Bugzilla uses to send out email notifications. Normally this is Sendmail, but because of conflicts I was having with using Postfix/Sendmail on a server that is also running the Apache James email server, I substituted/installed another MTA called msmtp and created a link called /usr/bin/sendmail to point to msmtp in the /bin directory. Up to now this configuration has been working fine but I suspect the latest set of updates broke something and I am now getting an error message in Bugzilla whenever it tries to send out an email - "There was an error sending mail from 'bugzilla(a)ourdomain.com' to 'someone(a)anotherdomain.com': error when closing pipe to /usr/bin/sendmail: Data format error (EX_DATAERR)" Internet searches has not given me any joy resolving this so I don't understand why Bugzilla is now sick. I noted in YaST that there is a later version of Bugzilla available, version 4.4.9-7.1 so I thought I would try and upgrade Bugzilla to it. That produces another snag and the error I get is - "nothing provides perl-Daemon-Generic needed by bugzilla-4.4.9-7.1.noarch" Once again, internet searches is not giving me any good answers as to how to resolve this either. They did lead me to a user repository maintained by one Jeff Mahoney in the http://download/opensuse.org/repositories/ that purports to support Bugzilla, but adding his repositories to my collection did not resolve finding this particular package either. So what to do? Any kind guru's want to lend a guiding hand? Thanks in advance... Hello; For years I've used a printer w/ parallel port, but I had to replace it with a new HP. I have a simple network Apple Wireless router from comcast modem. Wireless bridge to a second Apple wireless router. This bridge has ethernet to SuSE 13.1 linux box. This bridge has USB connector to new HP printer. Also can connect one of several ethernet ports on bridge to HP printer. Wireless Mac talks to Linux box, Wireless Mac talks to printer. Cannot configure printer to communicate with Linux box, Linux box does not see printer in YAST. What is the transparent way to set up a printer on a Linux box? Hi All, I installed dictd from the opensuse-education repo using zypper (Thanks OpenSUSE Education!!!) It installed fine but without a default configuration, i.e.: carlh@linux:~> dict example 'dict.conf' doesn't specify any dict server This is for my own personal use and the system isn't a server. What's the minimal config needed to get it working? I've read the man pages and reviewed the supplied example configurations but none of them seem to clearly discuss or explain my admittedly rudimentary requirements. In the latter case, it's almost as though all the comments have been stripped from the .conf files.
