Hi. Opensuse 11.2 Thunderbird 3.0b4. I cannot get received mail sorted using the filter. If I set up a filter, next time an email to be found in the filter set up is moved to the filtered folder. [opensuse] Driver for Intel 3945 wireless card

I see on YaST the firmware for this card, but I do not see the driver itself. The page <http://en.opensuse.org/Wireless_network_card#Intel_Pro_Wireless_.28IPW.29_3…> implies that both these packages should be available on the non-oss repo. Where is it? Or is it already in the kernel, which the page doesn't mention? [opensuse] Home & End button @ command prompt

Dear All, I need advise how to make Home and End button to be active at command prompt (BASH ?) If I am in vi editor, the buttons can be use. Cursor move to the beginning of line if I press Home button and I press End button cursor move to the end of line. However, it does not work when I am at command prompt. How / where can I change the setting? Is it in the /etc/profile? Thanks a lot for your kind help. Listmates, On my laptop, when I use ssh to connect to other boxes, I receive the following error: /usr/bin/manpath: can't set the locale; make sure $LC_* and $LANG are correct I don't know, but it probably explains the screwed up text encoding I see in konsole where instead of having the normal line drawing characters in mc, I get weird A's or a's. See: http://www.3111skyline.com/download/openSUSE_bugs/112/kde4/encoding-prob.jpg Thankfully, I haven't run into this problem before 11.2, but unthankfully that means I'm kind of searching for where to start looking to fix the problem. [opensuse] Keyboard Remapping

Hi Folks, I'm finally mucking around with 11.2 and KDE and am trying to replicate the important KDE 3.5 functions. So far, the only thing I'm stuck on is keyboard remapping, in particular swapping the left-control key with caps-lock. This was easy in 11.1 and earlier yast2's, just check a box. Alas, I can't find the graphical ju-ju with KDE 4.2. I hope I don't have to go back to a xmodmap spell of some sort. The swap used to be done in Xorg.conf, but that's going away, right? While updating openSuSE 11.2, YAST2 logs these lines repeated several times: Installing hal-0.5.13-4.2.1.x86_64.rpm (installed size 1.61 MB) Additional rpm output: insserv: Script jexec is broken: incomplete LSB comment. insserv: missing `Required-Stop:' entry: please add even if empty. What do they mean? Does it matter? (There's no obvious effect on the system.) You need to know the stuff after OU=RST as well. If you know it, do as follows: -- check that pam_ldap is used: grep for it in /etc/pam.d/*. If it appears there, everything's ok. -- Edit /etc/ldap.conf: There is base specified, at the start. This is called the base DN. Check further if nss_base_passwd is commented out or not. You need to use that clause, and supply your complete DN there, include OU=RST. (Maybe only prepend OU=RST, maybe there is some ou=people to prepend before OU=RST or insert inbetween it and the base dn.) Do the same for nss_base_shadow. If that does not work, or if you don't know the complete full DN of your people LDAP tree, you'll have to use ldapsearch to find out if you can access your account. If you don't know ldapsearch, ask here. Basically an ldapsearch call looks like ldapsearch -x -h puma -b ou=people,dc=npc,dc=de -s one \ uid=schrod and should give some output. (puma is the name of my LDAP server, schrod my login name.) If not, try it with sAMAccountName=schrod; AFAIR for some versions of AD sAMAccountName is used as the uid attribute name. That should actually be configured in ldap.conf as well, as nss_map_attribute or pam_login_attribute. If ldap.conf has a clause "ssl start_tls", you'll probably also need to add -ZZ to ldapsearch. Maybe leave "-s one" off, then it will search the whole tree from the base DN, that should give a result with information where the account records are stored in the LDAP tree. Furthermore: -- If rcnslcd is running (new since 11.1 w/ updates), you might want to configure nss-ldap.conf as well. This is used for name and uid lookup, so if you leave it as is, the other uids will still be visible, even though they can't log in. Or maybe that's what you want, YMMV.
