[opensuse] 11.2 shell error: /usr/bin/manpath: can't set the locale; make sure $LC_* and $LANG are correct??
Listmates, On my laptop, when I use ssh to connect to other boxes, I receive the following error: /usr/bin/manpath: can't set the locale; make sure $LC_* and $LANG are correct I don't know, but it probably explains the screwed up text encoding I see in konsole where instead of having the normal line drawing characters in mc, I get weird A's or a's. See: http://www.3111skyline.com/download/openSUSE_bugs/112/kde4/encoding-prob.jpg Thankfully, I haven't run into this problem before 11.2, but unthankfully that means I'm kind of searching for where to start looking to fix the problem. Anybody have an idea of what to check? This doesn't just effect kde4, this effects all desktops (e16, flux, openbox, etc...) -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. You're leaving out vital information. What *is the output of locale? What does /etc/sysconfig/language say and what are KDE's settings for language/locale? Philipp -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
