[opensuse] WiFi with openSUSE 11.0 RTL8180L driver

Greetings, For our workshops / demos we are trying more and more to use WIFi. We cannot get WiFi with openSUSE 11.0 and a RTL8180 driver to work. Yast does find a wifi module and after entering the SSID, the paraphrase. KO. On the eeePC with openSUSE 10.3, all is fine. I presume that there is a modus operandi for integrating RTL8180 ? Hi There is a gadget on my GNOME 'panel' with an icon of a set-square in front of a CRT. It invokes a module for fiddling around with screen resolution, and the like. It has no 'about' entry on it's right-click menu. I can't get rid of it. I say 'remove from panel' and - poof- it is gone. Next time I log in it is back! I have an HP2133. It only has a tiny screen, I need all the space I can get. I am never going to change the settings, let alone need to do it in a hurry. The thing, when clicked, asks for a root password, then after that dialogue vanishes nothing happens. How do I get rid of it? [opensuse] Using your own print filter script?

I have a setup using DOSEMU, for that I can direct the DOS program "LPT1:" output directly to a script and it works fine. I would like some Windows computer runnings the same DOS program to also use this script for their "printing," I can get the output from those machines to CUPS vis Samba without an issue -- of course to a normal printer thats setup in CUPS. All I need CUPS to do is pipe the raw data it receives from the client to a script, bypassing any print filters as no processing is needed. [opensuse] PDF Import for Linux OOo v3.

I've been trying to install the PDF Import extension for Linux. First off, the automatic install doesn't work on either 32 or 64 bit versions of OpenSUSE 11.0. However, on the 64 bit system, I was able to download the extension and then install it. [opensuse] PPC - too many ways to fail

Months ago I burned a 10.3 ppc boot.iso. Today I tried it on a G4 w/ 384M of RAM, starting with the self check of the media, and it failed. Afterward I downloaded the whole 11.0 DVD iso, checked the md5sum, then burned it on 10.2 using K3B. Media self check failed on it too. After trying to use it anyway several times, always crashing YaST2 at the end of package detailed selection, I tried just using it to start a network install. That too crashed at the end of package selection. So I tried to capture the y2logs, but that too fails. 'ls -l /sbin/sa*' gives me "/sbin/save_y2logs: No such file or directory", a totally absurd command response. I can see save_y2logs lives in /mounts/mp_0001/sbin. Why can't it work? Why don't 'ls -rt' or 'ls -alrt' work, while 'ls -l' does? Has anyone ever gotten 11.0 ppc to install? -- "Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry." My SMART update failed today. I get the following cryptic message.
