The directory structure for 10. only includes three versions the lastest being 2.0.2-7.1 http://ftp.gwdg.de/linux/suse/ftp.suse.com/projects/OpenOffice.org/10.0-i38… I assume the 10.1 and 9.3 versions will not work correctly. [SLE] SuSE 10.1 kicker panel network powersave and other applets missing

I have a strange kicker problem I have a 10.1 install which worked fine I could see the network manager, the little battery for powersave and the everything else now they are gone. I tried restarting I tried stopping and starting kicker and could not fix it. I think this happened after I applied the kde patch so I do not know if that caused it...any idea?? Thanks in advance. [SLE] Changing eth1 to eth0

Hi all, I've installed OpenSuSE 10.1, with one NIC. It was assigned the 'eth0' name to network device as it should be. Now, I've replaced the NIC with another one and, it has the 'eth1' name on the network device. I've tried to delete it with YaST and set it up again with no success. Is there any way to change the network interface name? [SLE] ypbind again

I'm still trying to make NIS work and playing with ypbind. When I run rpcinfo -u localhost ypbind, I get the error 'programme 100007 not registered'. What am I doing wrong? [SLE] 10.1 Laptop suprise!

Well, in 10.0 my Radeon X700 laptop went to a blank screen using the standard radeon driver, which meant after initial installation I had to drop to RL 3 and install the fglrx driver before I could do anything else. [SLE] ATI X700: Screen goes blank on runlevel 3

I'll start by saying that I'm new to this list, so if this problem has been posted before, I apologize. I wasn't able to find a solution to my problem via Google or forums. I have an ATI X700 display adapter in my system running SUSE 10.1 i386 (clean DVD install). I have installed the ATI driver (fglrx 8.24.8) by following the opensuse.org howto and it works - glxinfo says ATI and various apps are using the 3D acceleration. The thing is: if I try to enter runlevel 3 after logging into KDE, I'm left with a blank screen. I can blindly log in and #reboot (for example), so I'm guessing it's something xorg-related(?) A similar symptom is exhibited if I reboot / shutdown from KDE: after X shuts down, blank screen until the system reboot / shutdown takes place, instead of the usual output. I've tried to mess with the vga parameter in /boot/grub/menu.lst (even tried taking it out) but all that did was change my resolution at startup. I didn't have this problem back when I was using the same hardware and a previous version of fglrx on SUSE 10.0. Any help would be appreciated. hi, is anyone familiar enough with xgl on 10.1 to let me know if you can run 2 x servers at the same time? one xgl and one xorg? having a problem using cedega for games, xgl wont work with cedega, only xorg. is there a way to use xorg if you sign in under one name, and sign in under another and use xgl? thank you. steve Peace Steve Reilly --------------------------------- Yahoo! [SLE] Sendmail can not open sockets

Hi, I have a new installed OpenSuse 10.1 and problems with my sendmail. It can not open sockets, but it seems not to be a problem with the "file" permissions. The mail server is part of a HPUX controlled NIS. I have attached the log from sendmail an the permission of sockets. Has anybody an idea, what the problem is? I have searched the Internet, but nothing related found. Hello all: I have a power point presentaion (ppt) file I would like to open with OpenOffice.org Impress. If I try to open it with the default SUSE openoffice package the process hangs and I have to kill it from a terminal. This happens in SUSE 10.0 and 10.1 with different OpenOffice versions, including 2.0 prerelease, 2.02 and 2.03. However the native OpenOffice package, downloaded from the OpenOffice site has no problem opening this ppt file (also tried with 2.0, 2.01, 2.02). Since this behavior occurs only with the SUSE package through different versions, I think it can be more likely related to a different default setting between the two OOs, rather than to a bug. Of course I am not sure. Please write me if you have an idea what can make the difference and how I could make SUSE's OpenOffice open the file.
