[SLE] Compability between FC4/5 and Suse10.1

Dear all, I have a situation where we want to install Suse10.1 over FC4/5 preserving /home partition. The only data that we want to preserve is the Evolution mail in that /home partition. So: Will the new Evolution from Suse will be able to recognize the mail from FC4/5? [SLE] Getting list of files w/ first few lines displayed

Running SuSe 9.2 Pro on a Pentium 4 box. Thanks to Bryan J. Smith, Mr. Banana, Randall R Schulz for your suggestions on how to solve the above-captioned problem. The file listing eventually worked out nicely with 'head' in a terminal session. Please forgive my ignorance about Nautilus: it is not listed in my application menus, so I assume it's not present on my system. How would I go about downloading it so as to be able to install it via Yast? [SLE] SuSE 9.0 and IPX help needed

Hello All, I need some help setting up the SUSE 9.0 to route IPX also. I have a SuSE/firewall/GW setup where some computer behind the firewall needs to access a NOVELL server and they only want to use IPX. 1) Is SuSE 9.0 kernel is compiled with IPX support ? 2) if yes can I configure the firewall to to forward IPX packet? [SLE] Another problem - kernel this time...

I've just upgraded my graphics card to a new Nvidia, I've downloaded the install routine for thier drivers and run the nvidia-install script. It asked to recompile modules for my kernel and I replied yes..... Now my system won't reboot.... Grub complains of a cylinder being outside the range permitted by the BIOS. How can I re-install the original kernel (SuSE 9.3) from dvd using the rescue disk? Is it possible? Phil

[SLE] Problems with Packman Repositories?

I have a new 10.1 install on a laptop and today I went to setup my installation sources in YaST. I added several without a problem (inst-source, non-oss-inst-source, suser-guru). However, when I try to add one for packman I get an error that the repomd.xml is not signed (no big deal at this time) so I select yes to add the directory. Then when I click finish I get the following error: Your service was added successfully to YaST, but could not be synchronized with ZenWorks.: Adding zypp service... =[1G=[41m=[0m 0%=[0K (and several more like this. I've tried a couple of mirrors and each one gives the same problem. Am I doing something wrong here or is there a problem with the packman repositories? [SLE] Installation SUSE 10.1 does not prompt request for CD2, CD3, CD4..

I found on a different forum someone with a similar problem but there was no reply to it. My big problem with the suse installation (I thought it was because I was installing on a LV) is that once the CD1 is installed, the machine reboots from the CD (which STILL has CD1, following the instructions) and prompt the main menu of "Boot from hard disk, installation, etc." Yast2 is never launched and hence never prompts asking for CD2. What should I do? I have tried everything possible and I am just wasting time and time... Any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks cc

Hello List, Is there a way to forward ip for clients that is connected with I.E vnc or NX and then uses another application to connect to a second server which does a ip security check to then show the ip address of the client they are connecting from that would be from their local work station? as far as I know on a default setup the server will give it's ip address to the next server.
