[SLE] ypbind domain name won't stay set

Hi everyone I'm still working on this NIS set up, and while I have the master server set up, ypbind is not working. The main problem seems to be that the domain name will not stay set; I can set it for one session, but I don't where to alter to set it permanently. [SLE] VMWare Tools in a SLED 10 Guest?

I have Novell's SuSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 (SLED) running as guest OS under Workstation (Linux Host) 5.0.0 build 13124. The install went perfectly, however I can get VMWare Tools installed. I have tried both the RPM and the TAR file. Both give me the same error when running vmware-config-tools.pl. "The kernel defined by this directory of header files does not have the same address space size as your running kernel." I have installed the kernel source and have run make cloneconfig and make modules_prepare in the guest. Where are these styles and how can I edit and create my own? BTW evolution signatures do not work in Blackbox per Suse. BTW why does Suse use the old name {blackbox} of the project. [SLE] CD-changer drives.

Hi, I received two CD-changer apparatuses for free and would like to setup both on my SUSE 9.1 system, mainly for testing/learning purposes. The first drive is an internal one with IDE and 6x CD-changer (manuf. in 1997); the second one is a "NEC Multispin 4Xc, CDR-C302" external SCSI drive for 7CDs (made in 1995). For the external SCSI one I have no cable at present, but the internal one with IDE I attempted to test already. I inserted it as primary slave with no problems and loading the 6 CDs went also OK; each LEDs above the keys responsible for each tray were lit, but "only" yellow. Under Linux in fact I saw the drive itself, but couldn't manage to really listen to music in any way, because no audio CD was found. Maybe the state of the yellow LEDs showed the same, could be that green is the winner... Do I have chance under Linux to really use the drives I just described or do I need anything in addition (win?) to use them?! Is there a trick out there for these kind of oldies, or likely the previous owner's own description for them as "fully functional" could be just a (slight) exaturation?! Yeah, forgot to mention that none of the drives have play button, so likely dependent on the OS. [SLE] vmlinuz (xenified) with autofs compiled in it?

Hi, I need autofs enabled in my suse domain (domu) running on Xen. Unfortunately Xen0 has FC running on it. The kernel I am using for the domains is /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.13-15.8- Suse I know there is RPM for version 2.6.16 which comes with autofs: http://anorien.csc.warwick.ac.uk/mirrors/suse-apt/10.1-i386/RPMS.base/kerne… However if from FC5 I try rpm -ivh kernel-xen-2.6.16.13-4.i586.rpm it says it needs perl-bootloader and there is no such package for Fedora. Suggestions? I just want autofs running on my Suse domains. thanks cc

Oper 9.0, or 8.54 for that matter, has on average over 80% CPU useage. This causes the fan to go into high gear on my Inspiron 8500 laptop. Is there any solution to this problem? Found nothing on the internet. Hi: I read over at linuxquestions.org that the Lexar Flash Drive 1 GB works under FC2.
