Got my copy of Linux (PRO) magazine.. the one where PRO is 90degrees from the rest of the type.. found an advert on page 35 which says to go to www.novell.com/suselinux to order my copy of 10.1 .. that link takes you to a page about 10.0 and no matter what I try, including searching I can't seem to get to the correct page.. Any brave soul care to enlighten me, and others on this. Giving up on Nvidia fx5500 - what other pci vid card has good drivers?

I've given up on trying to make a nvidia fx5500 work with Suse 10.0, can't even get it to complete installation using the graphics installer, and can't get it to start X even when using fx86config to try and set up a basic. What other video card chipset has a good driver support with suse? There was an ATI Radeon something there, but I recall ATI has had a reputation for poor support. Has this improved? (My wife dropped by the shop on a trip into town but can't remember the exact model). Almost all that seem to be in the local shop are using that super pci wotsit, but I'm about 3yrs out of date with my motherboard and haven't been keeping up with developments (so can't even remember the name of the new slot standard...) -- ------------------------------------------------------------- "When the multitude detests a man, inquiry is necessary; when the multitude likes a man, inquiry is equally necessary." bash printscreen key?

The answer to this is probably in front of me, but it's been a long day... I have a SuSE 9.3 system, no x-windows, just a bash console. I want to be able to hit the printscreen key and get a hardcopy of the screen contents - no graphics, just text (there is some color, which I don't need). P.S. It doesn't HAVE to be the printscreen key - I don't care if it's the fred key - just let me get a hardcopy. Thanks. No sound with SAA7134-chip based TV card

Hello, I have a PCMCIA/cardbus TV-card with the SAA7134-chip installed on my laptop. The card was recognized and configured via YaST and works well as far as the video part is concerned, but ....... I get no sound ! I have found out that with some TV cards you have to connect the audio output of the card to the input of the sound card, but that is not the case here. The card doesn't even have an audio output ! The audio signal goes to the PCI-bus. I believe that I just have to set some configuration item correctly somewhere, but where ???
