Konqueror/KDE configuration file

I'm loooking for help. I want to change a file association from StarOffice 6.1 (no longer installed) to StarOffice 7 in KDE/Konqueror. I've tried changing through control center and through konqueror, but each time I restart KDE it reverts to the old settings. Any suggestions? SUSE 9.0 lockup on Intel D875PBZ

Further to my previous post (GRUB, SATA etc) my D875PBZ-based box is hanging on boot. I have: 1 PATA drive (pri master), 1 DVD (sec master) and 2 SATA drives. I am booting off the first SATA drive (SATA0). It gets to runlevel 5 and starts various things (lots of green done messages) but then stops. The last two lines on screen are: Starting hardware scan on bootStarting CRON daemon done Starting Name Service Cache Daemon done I tried booting with the failsafe args(no dma, apm, acpi, smp, apic etc) but that hung earlier in the boot. The last line is: hde: attached ide-disk driver. I don't see anything wrong in the log before that. Does anybody have any suggestions what may be wrong or where to look for more diagnostics? This is the same m/b that 'root' says works fine (and indeed my box works under SuSE 8.2 with an earlier Mantel .21 kernel) Cheers, Dave

KDE customized desktop menus

Hi, I'm trying to change my desktop behaviour: I want my own defined menu when I click the left mouse button on the desktop. This can be configured in the 'Behaviour' tab, setting 'Left button' to 'Custom Menu 1', but I'm in search of some documentation how you can manipulate the underlying configuration file. Has anyone a clue how this can be done? 9.0 and NTFS

Dear all, How well is NTFS supported in SuSE 9.0? 1. Can it read and write properly NTFS? 2. Does it support all possible NTFS cluster sizes such as 512 bytes up to 64kB? Cheers, Ulrich

Need Help With Nvidia Driver

Hi: I finally got the courage to install the kernel sources and install the latest Nvidia driver. From runlevel 3 the Nvidia driver installed without issue. However when I ran the command sax2 -m 0=nvidia, sax started the spining bar appeared then the screen went blank, after a minuite or more I control-alt-deleted to reboot. When I rebooted there were no error messages and I got the NVIDIA screen as I logged into my user account. However when I ran glxgears I got only 17 fps. so something must be wrong. I looked in XF86config and all looked good. A lsmod shows the nvidia module loaded. Could someone help me figure out and correct what is wrong? -- Yours, Ralph. Apache connection refused

When I go to http:localhost/index.html.en I get this error message: Connection was refused when attempting to contact localhost. When I try to restart I get this error message: Cannot adjust 'apache2' service But the apache2 seems to start (using Yast). Why is the connection being refused? Because of permissions? What happens when apache2 is adjusted? If it's not adjusted, is that bad? Thanks, Jerome

Sieve Login problem

Hi all, I seem to have a not uncommon problem logging into sieve. HD stressing tool

Hi all, besides http://ltp.sourceforge.net/ is there any other tool for stressing the HD and finding out possible errors, weaknesses, bad sectors/clusters, etc? Please provide some usage examples :-) I have found that some HD errors only show up after a long period of time or when the system is busy doing heavy I/O tasks... Thanks, Martin
