Years ago I was using Suse 6.2 for a while. I remember there was something that you could do which would save all the installed packages and settings that you entered in during the installation to a floppy disk, and that you could use that floppy disk for an automated installation if you ever needed it again. Is that still around? How do I find it? -- <stu> you should be afraid to use KDE because RMS might come to your house and cleave your monitor with an axe or something :)

Xcdroast & MP3 files

screensavers are controled where?

On my 8.1 SuSeE I run KDE. In the desktop menu I have excluded the running of the socalled screensavers. Don't know how and why but after working a little on some programs and trying to fine install things, I have now screensavers popping up after five minutes of inactivity. They consist of nice mathematical figures. Where do they come from and how can I stop them? They are not from the KDE menu because that still says that screensavers are not activated.

This is more of an RTFM question. On sendmail, I use mailertable for some addresses (eg. AOL) that block Comcast dynamic addresses, and route them through another SMTP server. What is the analogous setting on Postfix. Where's htpasswd?

Hi, Can anyone enlighten me as to where SuSE hide htpasswd? I'm running SuSE8.2pro. I assumed it would be installed with apache2, but find doesn't turn it up on my hard drive, and YaST2 swears blind it isn't in any of the packages either (at least, it's not in any of the fields YaST2 searches - how do you search on files contained in the packages? I'm running SuSE 7.3. I made some modifications to my /root/.alias file and my /root/.bashrc file. Now when I log in I get the error in the subject line. If I rename the .alias file the function in .bashrc works, if I rename the .bashrc the .alias works, but not both together. What am I missing? The two files are listed below.
