US Robotics Sportster 56K-PCI and SuSE Linux

Since I'm updating my computer to a motherboard without an ISA slot I need to know if the US Robotics Sportster 56K - PCI modem will work with SuSE 7.2 Linux. I've been told that the one I'm planning on getting is NOT a winmodem. I've searched various databases without a difinite answer. Can anyone advise me on the mentioned modem. Terry Eck

New NVidia user. Question on agpgart

Hello all. I just replaved my VooDoo3 3000 with a generic VisionTek GeForce2 GTS DDR card. I installed the drives as per another post on these cards, and other than needing to force the removal of mesasoft, all went well. When I run gears, I get 2442.86 frames a second. My VooDoo 3 cave 120! When I goot, my console desplays the following three lines. I am using kernel 2.4.10. Hae I messed something up? Is this something I need worry about? Thanks! KDE2.2.1 Search disappeared from Help

Has anyone else noticed that the 'Search' function which used ht:Dig in KDE Help has disappeared and been replaced by 'Glossary'. Seems like a weird thing to do to me. Anyother way of accessing ht:Dig for searching and indexing info on one's computer? TIA, Jethro

[SLE] KCMInit crash on KDE startup

When I booted my box this morning KDE failed and I received the following message: KCMInit (kcminit) crashed and caused a signal 6 (SIGABRT). Odd? No recent changes to my system albeit a powerfail yesterday. This only affected my account and I was able to sort things out by renaming .kde2 and letting KDE recreate the folder. SuSEFirewall2 redirection

Hi all I'm configuring SuSEFirewall2 to masquerade an internal network, and to redirects requests to port 80 to an internal box. Masquerading works fine, but redirects not. I have tried too much and doesn't work : ( - These are the variables that i have used FW_FORWARD="0/0,10.0.0.X,tcp,80" or FW_FORWARD_MASQ="0/0,10.0.0.X,tcp,80,80" - In addition i have tried with configuring the firewall2-custom.rc.config script, with this lines: iptables -A PREROUTING -t nat -p tcp -d REAL_IP --dport 80 -j DNAT --to 10.0.0.X:80 or iptables -A POSTROUTING -t nat -p tcp -i eth0 -j DNAT --to 10.0.0.X:80 Any idea ?? thanks a lot !! SuSE 7.3 - upgrade version gone?

The english version of 7.3 was just announced as being shipped on october 12 (the day *before* the german version??!!) and I went in to order. Previously, the upgrade version was available from SuSE but not from local retailers, so I was going to pre-order online. But it seems the upgrade version is gone?! Is this true? Is my only option a full-priced version? Anders

email servers

Hello Everyone: I have a quick question. I am currently using SuSe 7.3 and sendmail for my email server. I have configured sendmail and been using it just fine. But I was wondering if maybe there is other viable email servers out there to replace sendmail. I would love to hear your recommendations on other alternatives and why.
