[SLE] LAPTOP FUJITSU LIFEBOOK C332

[SLE] Inode size?

The SuSE install defaults to 4096 regarding inode size. Would I recover loads of hard drive space by reducing this to 2048 or 1024? [SLE] No web access for my user accounts

I have a standalone SuSE linux box, my problem is that when I log on as one of my user accounts I can not access or surf the web. When logged on as root I have no problem and I can surf the web. KPPP works and logs onto my ISP, but I can't ping or reach any websites when logged on as a user. I have the user set to users group ID. What's going on, anyone know? I can't think of anything else. I've been reading all my Linux books, SuSE manuels and other info on the web with my Win box, but I can't find the answer. I don't want to use root to surf. Do I need to set permissions or something or what? [SLE] CMOS Clock

Hi all,, On one of my computers, when I boot it I get an error: Setting up the CMOS Clock FAILED What does this mean? Is it important? If so, how do I fix it? The system is a 486/80MHz running 6.3. [SLE] lockdsvc error

I am seeing this appear on my consul screens now: lockdsvc: input/output error. This is happening since I upgraded SuSE64 from 2.2.14 to 2.2.16. I am looking for a program for Linux that will take a number of pictures, make thumbnails and place them into a album that can be viewed and printed out with several thumbnails to the page. So far my search at various software sites has turned up zero. [SLE] rpm kernel-2.2.16

Hi, I installed SuSE's kernel-2.2.16 rpms -- standard kernel and source. Upon running lilo, rebooting worked just fine. (IIRC, that's what I did!) Now, in a dual processor machine, I downloaded and installed SuSE's smp-kernel and sources, run lilo, BUT on rebooting I get a kernel panic. IIRC, the message has to do with modprobing the aic7xxx module... it can't find it. So, I reboot into a working kernel and did depmod -a 2.2.16.SuSE, but to no avail... What else can/should I do? Anyone with a good experience to report? It worked fine in my single processor machine!
