[SLE] port redirector?

I seem to have misplaced it, but didn't someone recently mention a package/app that could be used to redirect ports internally? I have a webserver internally that I want to make available both externally and internally at the same address. Any suggestions/places to start looking? [SLE] X modules

Hi everyone, Does anyone know how to load X modules on the fly? Or how to specify the location of your XF86Config file when starting X? The problem is that I need to load a glx module on a computer which I do not have root access to. The suggested method is to edit the /etc/XF86Config file to include the module, but since I don't have write access to this file, I was thinking I could create my own XF86Config file in my home directory and point the X server to that file upon startup. Does anyone know how to do this? Alternatively, if I can just load the module while the X server is running, I would like to know... [SLE] Use of PCI Network cards

We are trying to setup PCI network cards in a 2.2.16 (SuSE 7.0) system. One system has just the PCI card (3C905), the other has 2 ISA network cards and the PCI (3C59x) card. The ISA cards work fine but the driver for the PCI card doesn't load. We must be missing something along the way. Can anyone give enlightenment on this??? [SLE] Logging a user out

I am looking for a way to log a user out at a specified time at night and not let them back in until a specified time in the morning. I don't care what the user is doing I just want to throw them off the system and get back to the graphical login screen. The user name is kat I have tried the following with no success. crontab -e tarts up vi no problems, wrote the following which should more or less work but nothing works at all. The first line should disable password for user kat at 22:59 it doesn't. The second line should shut the system down all I really want to do is get back to the graphical login screen but it doesn't do either The third line should reenable password for user kat so she can log back into the system like all of the others it does nothing. 59 22 * * * root passwd -l kat 00 23 * * * root shutdown now 00 08 * * * root passwd -u kat The first and third line worked fine under Mandrake 7.0 but the second line wouldn't run no matter what I did with it tried replacing shutdown now with init 0, halt, powerdown. None of it at all runs under SuSE 7.0. cron is running on the system so that is not it. [SLE] Using xcdroast under SuSE7

I am trying to use xcdroast on SuSE 7. I have a SCSI cdrom and a Yamaha SCSI burner. xcdroast worked fine under RedHat 7.0. Both devices are recognized by Suse, however, xcdroast gives me some funky feedback when trying to start it: ex: #xcdroast (which is buried un /usr/X11R6 for some reason) Here is what I get back. And now the password for root: -su: xcdroast: command not found. I am executing this as root. Any ideas? [SLE] rsh as root here to suzah fails...

Hi gang, I admit ignorance when it comes to security issues of things-network. That up-front. Can anyone tell me how to get a cron job (run as root) here on tao to rsh to my kline account on suzah, my SuSE platform? Every night, I tar up some files and rcp them over to suzah's hard drive, in /tmp. As root I invariably get a permission denied; when I exec the script as kline here or type the command as kline here, say, % rsh -l kline suzah ls -l /tmp it works. I do understand the need for security... but I'd sure like to understand this better. TIA, gary -- Gary D. I have had this on going problem with xntpd. I manually set the time with ntpdate clock.isc.org, which sets the clock fine. Then I start xntpd with the init script. It runs for awhile but it seems that it can't keep up or loses sync. Could this be a battery issue on the mobo?
