[SuSE Linux] List Directory Tree

Hi, The recent discussions on grep inspired me to ask this question. How can I list the directory tree? No files within directories, just the directories. I thought some 'ls' option combination would provide this, but no-luck. I'd like to start from / and list ALL directories recursively. Any ideas? [SuSE Linux] Xserver visuals set up

Hi, I'm running suse 5.3 with XF86_SVGA ver. 3.3.2.3 as my X server. If I run it with '-bpp 24' or '-bpp 16' I only get one 'TrueColor' visual. With '-bpp 8' I get a 'PseudoColor', 'GreyColor', 'DirectColor' visuals. Is there a way to set up the X server in 24 bit depth so I get 'PseudoColor' visuals as well? I seem to still have one problem with receiving email with fetchmail. When fetchmail delivers email for sendmail to send out, it sits in /var/mqueue until I manually run sendmail -q. Prioir to all my email difficulties, fetchmail/sendmail delivered email immediately. Now I have to run a crontab to get email released by sendmail. Is this how others do things that only have a dialup network connection. I made sendmail args to look like sendmail -bd -om with no queue period. I searched the scripts but cannot see how to get sendmail to immediately release delivered email other than issuing sendmail -q at times. Again, thanks for all the great assistance, everyone. Ok I send a mesage this am that apparently diddnt make it to the list the question is can someone post their *working* /etc/diald.config & /etc/suseppp/diald/generic.diald *current error status* 1) diald wont start from boot. It says yes in rc.config and the system boots up on run level 2 I have to start diald manually ie:diald 2) when I request a service such as telnet <my provider in /etc/hosts> it triggers diald and sucessfully dials up gives me a local IP and remote IP then states "ppp not replacing existing default route to $" "connect script timed out. KIlling script" notice the error is *after* the ip address are issued ! [SuSE Linux] kernel 2.2 upgrade

I am new with SuSE so please forgive my ignorance. With the final release of the 2.2Kernel coming very soon, how do I upgrade my kernel? I feel like yast would provide that function, but I am unsure. Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated, I have not been running linux long, but the uptime is great. Now it seems that sendmail plays hardball with email I fetch with fetchmail. Why would sendmail grab the email and not release it to my user account? I am using the default sendmail -bd -q30m -om in yast. Could someone with a dialup tell me what in heck they use in yast for the basic sendmail args command? I need to get sendmail to release the email so I do not have to run sendmail -q to get personal email to me. Thanks. Michael E. Narrowed down some email issues. Now anyone know why email sent through localhost would queue instead of going out immediately? I checked how sendmail is configured in yast and it has switches for sendmail -bd -q30m -om. This means as far as I know to run in background daemon mode, to queue email for 30 minutes, and to... I dont know what -om means. But its academic because sendmail does not send the email after its queued. When suse boots, where does sendmail get its args from? It appears that it does not start in daemon mode since it is not intercepting email that has queued for 30 mins per the argumeent above. Does one have to still sendmail -q either in a crontab or manually? Even running sendmail in yast with no args queues messages sent from netscape. Thanks for any help. -- Michael E. I am having some problems with my upstream smtp host that I usually pass email to. Now I have my box handling email which I feel better about.
