Hi *, is there any known reason, why http://http.download.nvidia.com/opensuse/leap/ is no longer accessible? I always get a 404 8-( Is there a different URI where the drivers can be loaded from? TIA. [opensuse] libreoffice not showing embedded graphics anymore

I must have inadvertently changed some setting - in libreoffice::write, embedded graphics are no longer being shown. Just empty boxes with the name of item. The same goes for older documents, so I'm guessing it's not a document setting. Any hints on how to get the regular behaviour back, ie how to make LO show the embedded graphics? [opensuse] Wipe GPT partition table?

What is the best way to wipe a GPT partition table completely from an USB key? (Background: My USB key contains a GPT partition table, probably from an OS installation (FreeNAS, openSUSE installation media ...). Parted, fdisk, gdisk have functions to create a new MSDOS partition table, but they do not wipe the GPT completely. As the result, Grub2 functions (grub2-install, YaST Bootloader) fail. Currently I do "dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/disk/by-id/<my-usb-key-device> bs=64M", but this takes long.) [opensuse] can no longer select 4x6in photo for printing

Visiting parents. Their Leap 42.2 machine running KDE has an annoying new issue. I don't know for sure if this came about after the upgrade from 42.1 to 42.2 (done around the new year) or following a more recent update. The printer is an old HP PSC 2410 (PSC 2400 series) multifunction device. It should, and has always for the last dozen years, printed any size or quality up to A4, including 4x6in or 5x7in photos (with or without tab/border). Now, when going to print from any application, trying to select these options from the drop-down list fails. They are there in the list but clicking them is ignored and it reverts to A4. Some similar options such as 148x105mm can be selected. I tried changing the ppd in YaST, in the Cups web interface or in hp-setup from hpcups to hpijs. Although this changes some of the items in the paper size list, equivalent options such as 'Photo or 4x6in index card' still cannot be selected. Vaguely recalling mentions on this ML from others trying out the hplip packages direct from the project's website, I followed the instructions there to download and install the latest version 3.17.4 for openSUSE 42.2, agreeing during the process to remove previous versions and reinstall. After all that, still the same problem persists. Here's the ppd file that's in /etc/cups/ppd: http://paste.opensuse.org/17473252 what is responsible for enforcing the paper sizes, this ppd file or something else? [opensuse] Behaviour of xlock in package xlockmore

Has the behaviour of xlock changed? It used to prompt for the user's password to unlock. That seems to be what it is supposed to do according to the man page. But I find it prompts me for a key. This key is then hashed and stored in .xlockrc. [opensuse] Is 40 dropped packets out of 300,000 high? This is wired cat5 LAN.

I happened to look at netstat -in with a large SMB upload ongoing and was surprised to see dropped packets. I'm on the client that is uploading the data to a Windows fileserver. They are on receive side which should not have much data in the packets at all. It's not outrageous, but it caught me off-guard. And I don't often look at the number of dropped packets. The machines are just a few feet apart and connected to the same 1Gbit switch. So I move that file away and try to connect again. But I still get the same IP and GW. The NM applet informs that the current connection is "Auto Ethernet". How do I correct the situation? I have reinstated the "Samsung mobile via USB" profile set to autoIP, but doesn't work. I then noticed that the UUID is wrong, so I renamed the file to "Motorola USB", and changed the UUID. Now, finally, I get the IP set to "192.168.42.18" and GW to 192.168.42.129, and networking finally works via USB tethering. There must be some GUI way of doing this! -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. Hi, I have tried to install Tumbleweed on a virtualbox for last 2 days and the installer fails on unarchiving few packages. Seems like a broken ISO file. Are Tumbleweed ISO's created daily? Should I just wait for few more days for the ISO to be fixed?
