[opensuse] libreoffice not showing embedded graphics anymore
I must have inadvertently changed some setting - in libreoffice::write, embedded graphics are no longer being shown. Just empty boxes with the name of item. The same goes for older documents, so I'm guessing it's not a document setting. Any hints on how to get the regular behaviour back, ie how to make LO show the embedded graphics? Hi Per,
View > Images and Charts needs to be checked. :)
Thanks Carl! - I see that option in LO5, but I'm on LO3.6, doesn't seem to have that option, at least not in the View pull-down. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (22.9°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - free dynamic DNS, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I switched to a different user, embedded graphics are showing just fine, so this is a user setting. Now, where is it ?! -- Per Jessen, Zürich (24.5°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - your free DNS host, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Apparently it is called "Graphics On/off", makes sense. I guess my Alzheimer's is worse than I thought, I simply cannot find that icon or button. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (24.6°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - your free DNS host, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

it would surely be something on the config ==> view menu, but doesn't seem to exist on my LO 5.3.3. maybe replaced by hardware acceleration and/or opengl -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet freenode -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Thanks Patrick, I found that one too - and it worked! The only mystery that remains is - how did I switch off that option to begin with?? On LO5 I see the menu item on the View pull-down, as Carl suggested, but in LO3.6 I don't have it. I'm now looking at customzing the menu vi Tools->Options->Customize where "Graphics on/off" does exist. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (24.9°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - your free DNS host, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

The LO 4.0 guide says "Settings chosen on the pages in the LibreOffice Writer section of the Options dialog determine how your Writer documents look and behave while you are working on them. If the Options dialog is not already open, click Tools > Options. Click the expansion symbol (+ sign or triangle) by LibreOffice Writer on the left-hand side of the dialog. A list of pages drops down.)" Under the View options is a section labeled "Display" and there's a check box labeled "Graphics and objects" Again, this is 4.0 not 3.6 but I thought this might be worth sharing. :) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Yes, except it isn't there in LO 3.6. I managed eventually by Tools->Options->Customise - add the "Graphics on/off" item to the View menu, and it works. I really don't understand how it got switched in the first place - when there was no menu or keyboard shortcut. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (25.4°C) http://www.hostsuisse.com/ - virtual servers, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
