[opensuse] Leap 42.2 - mc sftp: an error occurred while reading ~/.ssh/config - WTF?

All, Is this me, or is sftp in mc broken after the latest ssl updates? When I try and sftp to hosts in my hotlist I get: ------------------ 11: sftp: an error occurred while reading ~/.ssh/config: Resource temporarily unavailable <hitting ESC the following error is there> Cannot chdir to "/sftp://2pi/" Bad file descriptor (9) ------------------ I always sftp between hosts the same way, e.g. to get to host '2pi' I would use: cd /sftp://2pi/home/david I just tried in Leap 42.2 and received the error. Switched to my Arch box and tried it, and it works normally. Can someone confirm the issue and I'll file the bug report. If it's just me doing something dumb, then what to check?? [opensuse] Can't mount USB drive

HI, I'm trying to connect a usb docking station with a drive in ti to a laptop with opensuse 13.1 (doing a backup before upgrading). The docking station works under Windows 10. On opensuse, It shows up as a usb device, but does not get assigned a /dev entry (like /dev/sdb). Does anyone know how to persuade the system to give it a device entry so I can mount it?? [opensuse] why is samba on my machine?

I'm running leap 42.2. I don't use Windows but YaST says that the samba package along with a bunch of other packages associated with 'samba' are installed. smbd doesn't appear to be running, and YaST says the file server pattern is not installed. [opensuse] openSUSE-13.1 update repo

I have an openSUSE-13.1 system that I have neglected update with the latest updates, and the assoc update repo now seems to have disappeared. Anyone know where I can find the updates to apply to the system? I'd like to archive the system in the fully updated condition when I am ready to switch to a newer system as well as to have the latest updates instaled during the brief time I will be using it until that time. [opensuse] Leap 43.3 beta question

I would like to install the current Leap 43.3 beta on a disk that I am currently running openSUSE 12.3 on. I have a free partition into which I would like to install 43.3. Might I expect any issue with the boot setup? The machine has an older traditional BIOS in respect to booting. I need to be sure I can still run 12.3 after the install. I will need to continue using that until 43.3 is fully in place. Is the 43.3 beta far enough along where I can 'zypper dup' to stay current? This seems to be the way of things. The 43.3 info says it is using a rolling release methodology. [opensuse] Closing the lid of the laptop does not activate the power functions

Hi all, I'm using openSuse 42.2 with the latest kernel (4.4.62-18.6.1) and the latest Plasma5 updates in an HP Pavilion dv7 laptop with an Optimus Nvidia graphics card, but i'm using the i915 video driver. After the latest updates, closing the lid of the laptop does not activate the power functions (suspend, hibernate, etc) and they are well configured in the Power Configuration. These functions are operational from the KDE menu. Any ideas? Since I got a dashboard camera for use in my car I have got very long videos which I would like to split into smaller parts. What can opensuse offer me for such a job? [opensuse] batch yast clone_system

Is there any better way of running an automated (daily) yast clone_system than screen -D -m timeout 4h yast clone_system timeout 4h is to avoid endless jobs when one or more repositories are not avaliable (as i.e. now), and it would be perfect I could say "abort when there is a problem". [opensuse] KVM with btrfs on a LVM partition

Hi! I have Leap 42.2 as KVM host with clients also running Leap 42.2 On the host I use LVM and prepare logical partition (create the, format them and populate them with data). Then I assign these logical partitions the clients as block devices (on the host the partition is not mounted any more after assignment). Using ext4, this setup works well. Using btrfs on the LVM partition works only for a few days. Anyone else having this problems? I know that btrfs requires trimming, scrubbing and balancing which is done on Leap 42.2 as a cronjob.
