[opensuse] USB3 drive not recognized

Hi, I recently purchased a Seagate STDT4000200 Backup Plus Desktop drive. When I boot the laptop with the drive connected, all is fine (AFAICT). But when I boot the laptop without the drive and plug it in later, the drive is not recognized. More, when I shutdown the laptop with the drive plugged in, the laptop does not shutdown fully. Any suggestions where to look for clues ? cat /proc/partitions gives nothing for the drive when plugged in later. journalctl -f is silent when plugging in the drive. [opensuse] iscsi config screwed up by lio_dump ?

I guess there are not many takers for these questions - anyway: I used targetcli to create/edit my configuration, looked good and I had an initiator connect and run some IO. Then I rebooted the LIO target server and ended up with a partial config being dumped to /etc/target/lio_setup.sh. AFAICT, my saved config in /etc/target/scsi_target.lio is fine, but how do I convert/load that? It looks like json. The targetcli man page on Leap mentions the "clearconfig" command, and the man page on http://linux.die.net also has a "restoreconfig" and "sessions". None of these work in my version of targetcli. We've been using iscsitarget (http://iscsitarget.sourceforge.net/) for a couple of years, but as I am setting up a new set of storage servers, I wanted to see what else is out there. With 'deprecated' I meant in open/SUSE where we clearly favour LIO/tcm. Hannes Reinecke is active in LIO development, I think. It would also appear that IET/iscsitarget is falling behind featurewise. I found this comparison table, but I can't tell how un/biased it is: http://scst.sourceforge.net/comparison.html It seems that SCST is an IET fork, which appeals to me as we already have IET running. [opensuse] leap 42.1 - missing an iscsi target/server?

On 13.1 and earlier, I have installed 'iscsitarget' (ietd), but that's not available in Leap 42.1 ? I can't see another iscsi server either - can someone point me in the right direction? ISTR something about ietd being deprecated in favour of lio, but I can't find that either. [opensuse] Bash completion worse since last update

Just recently made an update because of glibc bug. Since then the bash completion or alias works completely different and is - in my opinion- unusable. Previous to that when I did ll direcory the cursor stopped after directory/ so that I could simply go on typing further directory names. Now it stops after directory * ( * = cursor, one space between the directory and cursor) I have to go back with backspace, type in '/' and then go on. Much more complicated. I know that "ll" is an alias but what changed for alias ll='ls -l' ? I cannot see any changes in /etc/profile.d for that. Did bash change somehow? [opensuse] which spreadsheet program to choose?

I'm using 42.1 with KDE3 as primary OS and DE, with 13.1, 13.2, TW, Mageia, Fedora and more, with Plasma5, KDE4 and TDE, available on other machines. I've been using OS/2 to run Quatro Pro for DOS for over 20 years, but I needed a bit more flexibility for a bug hunt project, more columns on screen at once than a DOS app can manage. I tried KSpread (kde3-koffice-spreadsheet), which just cost me 5 day's work as explained on the opensuse-kde3 list on 2016-02-29 04:01 (UTC-0500). (Archiving seems to be broken at least for -kde3 if not others) I tried installing LibreOffice, but it was unusable, ignoring the DE's DPI, resulting in insanely tiny text in both UI and content, and icons worse than uselessly small. I tried Apache's OpenOffice, but it crashes on startup: https://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse/2016-02/msg01431.html Cloud SS apps like Google's are not an option. The only others I recognize as spreadsheets in YaST are Calligra (KDE?), and Gnumeric (Gnome). Anyone have a spreadsheet to recommend?
