[opensuse] building a 32 bits efi file for leap

[opensuse] [opensuse-kde3] any KSpread (kde3-koffice-spreadsheet) users out there?

The reason for asking is I installed and started used it in 42.1 about 5 days ago, to accumulate data in one sheet. It's been growing almost continuously over these days to 18 or 20 columns and reached about 150 rows before I exited the program. While building I saved my work repeatedly, including just a minute or so before shutdown. I saved it only as a non-proprietary format, supposedly compatible with OpenOffice's spreadsheet program, .sxc. Now it needs rescue, if that's even possible. KOffice won't open it, reporting "The file seems to be corrupt. Skipping a table.", after which I click OK absent any alternative, resulting in another popup "Could not open <filename>. Reason: Internal Error.", then after dismissing that one, return to the same startup screen instead of any spreadsheet. I tried a new sheet then importing, but that results in the same error messages. I tried LibreOffice, but its proprietary file picker refuses to recognize the .sxc file. I booted a machine running 13.1 with KDE3, but its "older" KOffice won't recognize the .sxc either to open or to import. [opensuse] Is my ISP blacklisted?

If you read this post and know the answer would you please reply to me by private mail and not via this list. I have not received any mail from any of the oS mail list for the past 4 days but I see in the archives that there have been messages posted each day. >From this I deduce that my ISP has -- again! -- been blacklisted my someone but is not aware of this blacklisting. Someone here posted a while back an URL which gives a list of ISP which have been blacklisted but I did not take a note of this URL. If you know what this URL is would you please send this info to me (via private mail) so that I confirm that my ISP has been listed and then get my ISP to 'get its act together' and get unblacklisted. In unix/linux systems file types are/can be identified without the extension, therefore it makes working with these applications counterproductive. For example I would like to place on my desktop two playlist files, one opened by vlc, the other by audacious. I thought that by adjusting file associations I can set which playlist is opened by which application. I have renamed pls extensioin to pls2 and associated it with audacious. But audacious cannot open the file anymore saying: Error opening file, file format not recognized. This is obviously not true as only the file extension was changed. I don't understand it why the program is made like that. One of the strengths of linux that it doesn't require extension to identify file type. Why don't some linux applications make use of this opportunity? Many users would probably not understand if a friend of them sends them a libreoffice file and this would not open. After the latest decision in UK (a good one) to demand files to be send to offices in open (that is .odt) format, this would be a problem if you think of it. I do not believe a second that they changed the OS but the did change the office software. Such a choice as you experienced does not only work in Linux but also Mac and Windows, and in Windows especially throughout all versions up to XP. Given the large diffusion of users having on their PC a bloatware version of office or in every case a Windows installation of whatever age.... I think at the end this is a logic choice. (You can "override" this limitation by telling the program to show "all files" instead of "supported files" thus this problem is only a limited one. Or should be. --- Alle Postfächer an einem Ort.
