[opensuse] the end of 32-bit openSUSE?

Since many newsgroup users are immune to the forums, it's likely many won't follow such new-fangled things as Reddit either, so I thought I'd post a link to a topic on the openSUSE subreddit to gauge users' thoughts here: https://www.reddit.com/r/openSUSE/comments/3d711c/will_leap_42_support_32bi… In summary, it's a detail that's been rather lost amidst the announcements about the new Leap 42 release, but it's looking likely that openSUSE 13.2 was the last to support 32-bit x86, unless somebody steps up to work on it. I know there's been past discussions in this group about keeping or dropping 32-bit support. I wanted to put the word out in case somebody here sees themself as able to help out. [opensuse] Firefox and Adobe Flash - This plugin has security vulnerabilities

It seems like a never ending battle with this. Every time I turn around this happens. Flash was just updated to 11.2.202.481 on 07/04/15. How does one MAKE Firefox ignore this and just work as normal, using whatever Flash revision is installed. It will get updated when there is an update. My wife has been using Linux over Winblows since SuSE-11.4 but she is ready to go back because of this sort of BS. [opensuse] libreoffice calc: how to prevent hanging out of text from cells?

Hello: Hopefully this is something simple: When I put text in a cell in libreoffice calc, the text hangs over the neighboring cell if text width is wider than width of the cell and the neighboring cell has no content. I would like to disable this behavior. I want visible text to be cut off at the edge of the cell even if the neighbor cell is emtpy. How can I set it? Hello. I use openSUSE13.2 (64) with the Mother Board which have 4 port NIC(Intel i210). These cards use igb module, and EEE (Energy Efficient Ethernet) support. I want to disable EEE, so , With Yast setup . Nwwork device --- Nework setting -- Network Card setup -- hardware Kernel module igb EEE=0 Ethetool Options --set-eee eno1 eee off --set-eee eno2 eee off --set-eee eno3 eee off --set-eee eno4 eee off Reboot host and for check setup , #ethtool --show-eee eno1 EEE status: enable NIC not disable EEE ! How can I disalbe EEE ? and I want to use eno1 and eno2 as bonding slave. How can I disable EEE on Bonding Interface ? [opensuse] OT: How to enable youtube html5 without cookies?

Hi, due to the flash topic on this list I encountered again the following: Any video on youtube in firefox or seamonkey shows the flash placeholder (asking me, if I want to enable flash this time, according to my settings) But I'd like to see the html5-version... So I go to https://www.youtube.com/html5 which sets a cookie and then it works - until I close the browser, because I allow session cookies only. I do definitively not want youtube, google etc. to have persistent cookies in my browser. Is there any other way to make html5 on youtube to default, without the need to set the cockie again in every session? Hints are welcome... [opensuse] list search by date broken?

I already emailed ml-admin@ but just thought I'd see if anyone else can reproduce this. If I go here: http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-factory/ And in the search field on the left click either magnifying glass icon, I get to a simple search field. Click on advanced search and then only change three fields from default: Search for: btrfs Date Range: 2015/06/01 to 2015/07/14 6947 most of which are not this year, let alone inside the range specified. If I go back and try again with the timeframe field instead, any option: yesterday, today, this week, this month... all of them give the same results. [opensuse] version numbers

Am I being dim here or is something amiss with how YaST determines superior version numbers for packages? I'm looking at some files in the Packman repo, and which are only available from that repo and none others that I have installed, but I'm seeing this: libavcodec56 installed: 2.7-1.3 available: 2.7.1-1.8 The line is marked in blue on the basis that the available package is newer / superior. But this goes against my presumed logic. I'd always regarded the numbers following a dash as effectively irrelevant, at least as far as openSUSE is concerned, and only referring to different builds of otherwise identical packages. [opensuse] Systemd introduced problem

If have a problem with the next command: seq 1 inf | head -n2 Under KDE, kconsole as regular user the output is 1 2 and stops here, just as expected. However, the same environment as user root, or on the system console as any user the output is 1 2 and then hangs because the pipe seems not broken and seq keeps on running. The same happens when doing 'cat <some file> | head -n<any number>' I see numerous occurrences in the systemd unit files with the directive IgnoreSIGPIPE=no, which should avoid just this problem. Oh, some extra info, I am using OpenSuse 13.2 64-bit and 32-bit. The problem exist only on the 64-bit systems. So what is the reason?
