[opensuse] Network driver option
Hello. I use openSUSE13.2 (64) with the Mother Board which have 4 port NIC(Intel i210). These cards use igb module, and EEE (Energy Efficient Ethernet) support. I want to disable EEE, so , With Yast setup . Nwwork device --- Nework setting -- Network Card setup -- hardware Kernel module igb EEE=0 Ethetool Options --set-eee eno1 eee off --set-eee eno2 eee off --set-eee eno3 eee off --set-eee eno4 eee off Reboot host and for check setup , #ethtool --show-eee eno1 EEE status: enable NIC not disable EEE ! How can I disalbe EEE ? and I want to use eno1 and eno2 as bonding slave. How can I disable EEE on Bonding Interface ? Thank you. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

How can I disalbe EEE ?
Looks like it should work the way you have done it, except I don't see an option 'EEE' for the igb module. It clearly used to be there, but "modinfo igb" doesn't show it anymore. Verify that your ethtool commands are being carried out when the interfaces are brought up. I'm not sure where those commands would be stored.

Presumably by disabling EEE on the underlying interfaces. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (22.1°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - your free DNS host, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I check it, and there is not showed EEE . # ethtool --set-eee eno1 eee off After exec this command, # ethtool --show-eee EEE status: disabled Tx LPI: disabled finally, I set /etc/init.d/boot.local /sbin/ethtool --set-eee eno1 eee off /sbin/ethtool --set-eee eno2 eee off /sbin/ethtool --set-eee eno3 eee off /sbin/ethtool --set-eee eno4 eee off boot.local set EEE off correctly.
