Reboot Fails After 12.1 64Bit Installation? Hi, I've been waiting a long time for a great Linux distribution. (been running Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 7 HP 64Bit for over a year) I tried openSUSE 12.1 64Bit in VirtualBox and it looks and ran fantastically. So I burned the DVD, put a new HDD into computer and installed it. Installation appears to be successful, but when it tries to reboot after install it does not reboot and the screen shown is garbled graphic? (if I reset the computer, I get an operating system is not found error) My computer specs: - Dell XPS 420 desktop - Intel Core2Extreme 4-core CPU - 8GB DDR2 RAM - Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB w/64MB RAM HDD - nVidia GeForce GTS 450 PCIexpress 1GB GDDR5 - Creative SoundBlaster Audigy 1 Anyone have any idea what the problem is and how to successfully install openSUSE 12.1 64Bit onto my computer? [opensuse] Dolphin Can't Mount Nikon Camera

Hi, I am running openSUSE 12.1 and Dolphin, at times, can't mount the camera when plugged via USB while Nautilus can. Nautilus also shows the two cards in the camera and makes it easier for a user to mount unmount where as that's not the case with Dolphin. [opensuse] kwallet and ksshaskpass when logging in via kdm

Hi everybody, when logging in from kdm ksshaskpass wants to know my passphrase for my ssh-key, that's fine. And because I stored that password within kwallet, ksshaskpass asks kwallet to hand over that passphrase and I have to unlock that wallet by entering the passphrase for the wallet. The problem is that I just cannot enter this passphrase, and - when hitting ESC - I also cannot enter the passphrase ksshaskpass asks me for. The cursor is blinking in the "password"-field but I cannot type anything there. Can anybody give me a hint how to fix this? To clarify on my complaint/request: I am not interested in a pam-plugin or similar that automagiacally unlocks the wallet when logging in via kdm, I just want to be able to enter the password for kwallet and/or ksshaskpass. Currently I am running the KDE 4.8 packages from the OS 12.1 KDE Factory repository but as far as I can remember this also doesn't work with KDE 4.7.4. Mozilla today patched eight vulnerabilities in Firefox as it shipped the latest iteration in its rapid release schedule. Firefox 10, sixth in the line of updates that have been rolling off the development line every six weeks since mid-2011, fixed half a dozen flaws rated "critical," Mozilla's highest threat ranking, and another two labeled "high." [opensuse] Yast nfs4 error

Hi Yast NFS Client gives me the option to choose a share and select nfsv4. If I select the share I want from the drop down list it will not mount the share. I think the dialogue is wrong. e.g. if /home is exported and I select /home from the drop down list it will not mount. For nfs4 it should change /home to / As I see it, yast is trying to do this: mount -t nfs4 myserver:/home /somewhere but it should be doing this mount -t nfs4 myserver:/ /somewhere Is this a bug in Yast? I can mount it manually, but what should I put in fstab to make it mount? [opensuse] Seek recommendations for Motherboard Diag Software

Over the last several days things are beginning to happen. I'm up to date on all updates. A week ago, the integrated audio - output - went out. The last two days, opensuse 11.4 will just completely die - to the point, the desktop locks up (no mouse, can't switch desktops, etc) and the reboot command is accepted but never completes. I have to hit the button to do a hard reboot. I have a software Raid5 with 4 1TB drives. I first found that the system was hung and couldn't get anything on the screen, rebooted and did some poking around before it went down again. I do have a spare drive but not sure which drive it is. Think I read a drive number giving some errors. Right now that PC is off till I get some information and a plan of action. Each time the server is on, its up for about 30 min, then is unresponsive. [opensuse] ImageMagick import - HowTo capture kdm on vt7 from tty1??

Guys, I need to make a screenshot of the kdm greeter from tty1. All of the examples show using: import -display :0.0 -window root somefile.png It doesn't work. Unable to open display. I have also tried with :0, localhost:0, localhost:0.0, etc. nothing seems to work. I was able to grab one "black" screenshot after using ctrl+alt+F1 and then using: import -display :0 -window root somefile.png The capture what the correct 1440x900 screen size, but it was black. The X server seemed to reset after taking the screenshot and the import command would no longer work. The imagick website shows the syntax as: import -display host:display[.screen] -window root somefile.png http://www.imagemagick.org/www/command-line-options.html#display What am I messing up? I get the same results with both radeonhd and nvidia drivers (different boxes of course) -- David C.
