[opensuse] Can't launch Support.desktop icon as user

[opensuse] 11.3 xdmcp - working?

Guys, Just a quick sanity check. Is xdmcp working on 11.3? I have given it a shot and I just end up with the gray screen and x-cursor in the middle, but nothing else. [opensuse] RPM executes application in current user session

How can I create an RPM package which will contain my own executable package to be started during installation, but with current logged user session instead of installing it as root. [opensuse] installation partition question

Friends -- I'm installing Opensuse 11.3 on a new machine. It has an SSD drive, and two RAID 1 (mirrored) hard drives. I was planning to put the /boot and /swap on the SSD for speed (unless you experts -- which I am not -- tell me that that's not a good idea), and the other partitions on the RAID hard drives. I cannot see in the installation Expert Partitioner how to move the /boot and /swap to the SSD. I can shrink the Windows partition on the SSD, so there is 20 GB available, and the proposed partition has 2 GB swap and 700 MB for /boot. So there should be room. [opensuse] logdigest question

Hello Mates, since a while i'm using logdigest. But in the Reports i'm seeing a lot of entries like: http://susepaste.org/37239927. I've tried to add into /etc/logdigest/ignore: kernel: SWF2-INext.* But it looks like it doesn't work. The print job succeeded (it was a railroad layout), but all the text is upside down! The text is located correctly, the drawing itself is not changed, and the text is printed left to right - but the letters are all feet up! And CUPS does not show a possibility to change this, there is no option like "T-Shirt/mirrored printout" or alike for my HP PSC 1410. The driver identifies as "HP PSC 1400 Series, hpcups 3.11.1.19". [opensuse] Evolution 2.30 / New Mail Notification / OpenSUSE

I have an openSUSE 11.3 box with Evolution 2.30.1.2-3.9.x86_64. Mail notification doesn't seem to work at all. The mail notification plugin is enabled, set to generate d-bus messages, display in the notification area, and to beep. It at least doesn't do either of the last two. What is the best way to debug mail notification? [opensuse] [11.4 RC1 64bit]-Very buggy?

Hi, I installed OpenSUSE 11.4 Release Candidate 1 64bit (Gnome Desktop version) into VirtualBox under Ubuntu 10.10 64bit. Seems like there are many problems with this RC. - Many of the icons in the menu are missing. - The Gnome panel loses its icons after rebooting. (changing theme seems to fix this issue temporarily) - Running Add/Remove Software disappears when updating. Anyone else having this issues? Guess I'll wait until RC2 is released. [opensuse] Executing shell scripts from Konqueror web-browser

Hi, I have a local webpage which displays music album covers from my music collection. Each album cover image is clickable, pointing to a file such as file:////home/bob/AlbumBrowser/Scripts-BHF/ImeldaMay_LoveTattoo-Play.sh which, as you can see is a shell script. The script makes MPD play the album (it could just as easily feed the *.flac or *.mp3 to mplayer or amarok, etc). When I left click on an album cover in Firefox, the music plays, as expected. However Konqueror insists on asking me whether I want to use Kate, Kwrite, or some other text editor to open the *.sh file. Right clicking opens a context menu, which includes the option to 'Open in bash' which is helpful, but I'd like to just left click and have the action executed. I've tried Settings > File Associations > applications > x-shellscript, where I've added bash to the top of the list in Application Preference order, but Konqueror still asks me which editor I want open the shell script in. All the shell scripts are executable. I've googled, but in this case google was not my friend :( Any suggestions, please? [opensuse] Mirrorbrain failures over Brazilian opensuse Mirrors

Mates, In order to avoid an error (IPv6 like, IMHO) I had to modify the default repository URL "download.opensuse.org" to "ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/". I suppose this is a local problem here in Brazil where the main URL were redirected on Brazilian openSUSE mirror which apparently is failing the connection.
