[opensuse] Does Everyone's Activities replicate?

Sorry for the Image Attachment My KDE4 Activities replicate each time I log out. I have 4 desktops. I have a different image on each. Other than that, I use now widgets or anything on the desktops. Upon logging back in, I will have a whole bunch of activities (see image) which show up if I right click the desktop and select Activities. After a few days, I see many pages of those activity icons as shown in the picture. In excess of 80 at times. It takes for ever to delete them. And all the customization of desktop images is gone upon each login. This has been happening since the very first release of KDE4, and I can't find any setting to stop it. Every log-out/shutdown adds 8 new activities. (suspend to ram adds none). My /home/[user]/.kde4/share/config/plasma-desktop-appletsrc keeps growing with new containments added each time shutdown or I log out and back in again. Its getting unmanageable . If you right click your desktop, and select activities, are you seeing what you expect?

It should preferably have separate per-color ink cartridges. I need it to print high quality photographs on a photo paper. [opensuse] Opensuse on Nvidia Optimus

Hei, yes, I know there's no support for Nvidias optimus technology both in Linux and Nvidias proprietary driver (and I do not even consider to install it). Whe have plans to buy som ASUS U45JC which have an Intel i5-450 CPU with integrated graphics and also Nvidia's optimus technology built in. I just want to know if any of the recent distributions (mainly opensuse) works flawlessly on such Laptops, without using optimus. Maybe there's somebody in here who owns one and can report? [opensuse] compression tool with high compression ratio, multiple files and fast random access?

I'm looking for a compression tool (lzma, gzip, zip et al) with the following characteristics: 1. high compression ratio 2. multiple files per archive 3. very fast decompression/extraction of single files Compression time is largely immaterial. Sofar I've come up with plain old 'zip' which satisfies 2+3, but the compression ratio is not quite up there with e.g. lzma. For instance, on the same files, lzma can compress a cpio archive to 298Mb, whereas the zip-archive is 473Mb. [opensuse] 11.3 laptop temperature Toshiba U505-S2950

Hi, I tried to install opensuse 11.3 x64 on my Toshiba U505-S2950. It wouldn't recognize the 11.3 install dvd even though it does recognize the 11.1 and 11.2 install dvds, so I had to use the net install cd and install the operating system via the internet. I spent some time working with the 11.3 system to get it working, and found that it would not start the cooling fan at any temperature. So I updated the kernel to the 2.6.36rc5 kernel, hoping that it would help. With that Kernel, the laptop processor got up to 78 degrees as read from cat /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/TZ0/temperature, and the fan would't start. [opensuse] question regarding virtual desktops (KDE)

Hello, I searched "everything", but can't find how to have on one virtual desktops only the applications started there in the panel? I have 20 (i.e., maximum) virtual desktops, each with on the average 10 applications --- having them all the panel is pointless. Hope somebody knows how to do that. [opensuse] Rebuilding php5

Hi, I would like to try making the Interbase/Firebird module for php5. I downloaded and installed the php5-5.2.13-0.1.1.src.rpm. I installed it with rpm -ivh ... That went fine. To make sure all I needed to make the standard packages I went to the directory where the src.rpm is located and there (as normal user) I did rpmbuild --rebuild php5-5.2.13-0.1.1.src.rpm. I got the following message : Installing php5-5.2.13-0.1.1.src.rpm error: Failed build dependencies: imap is needed by php5-5.2.13-0.1.1.i586 I checked, imap-devel is installed, but there is no package 'imap' (as specified in the spec-file).
