[opensuse] Error while creating a new virtual Machine (KVM)

Hello Mates, today i've tried to make a new virtual Machine with KVM in YaST. But sadly i'm getting the Error: "internal error: No <source> 'bridge' attribute specified with <interface type=''bridge'/> . Maybe anyone knows what is to do? [opensuse] Interbase/Firebird, anyone?

I'm replacing a old clone server running openSUSE with a PHP application connecting to Firebird to a new highend server. I've seen Firebird is available on OBS, although PHP modules for it are not. Anyone has done a migration of with Interbase/Firebird on openSUSE/SLES/any Linux?. My first idea was to just copy the datafiles, but the old server is running i386 kernel and the new one will be x86_64, so that probably wont work... Also found out about FBExport, it has some documented drawbacks but I'm not sure if they're common or not. I've worked with MySQL/PgSQL/Oracle/DB2 but I'm a little lost with this "new kid on the block", so any help will be appreciated. [opensuse] Linux Notebook recommendations

Hello folks, I in a desperate need of a new notebook/laptop for the oncoming school year. On a whim I've purchased Toshiba Satellite L675D-S7016 It works somewhat . . . It has a slow 100MB only Realtek RTL8102E Ethernet controller and Realtek 8172 WiFi controller which I cannot make working, no matter what I did. Its ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 graphic controller is not performing in KDE4 as well as nVidia on my RIP old Sager laptop. No openGL support and dodgy scrolling and windows moving /resizing. I'm running open SUSE 11.2 on this new thing, which I'm going to return back to the store. Could somebody please recommend, based on the personal experience, a decent notebook with the following characteristics: 1. 15 - 17" Display 2. Turion II or less desirable Athlon II dual core CPU. Quad core is fine as long as it's AMD 3. 1 GB Ethernet controller 4. Wi-Fi Wireless 802.11b/g/n controller which is known to work with Linux without excessive headaches. 5. nVidia integrated graphic controller. In the worst case scenario I can live with ATI Radeon. 6. At least 4GB DDR3 RAM expandable up to 8GB. I don't want to have older and slower DDR2 RAM. 7. Preferably in black or other non-flashy matte colors. I don't like that bright and cheesy silverish goldish el'cheapo glossy colors. [opensuse] openSUSE 11.3 RC 1 (x86_64) Problem with Xen

Dear OpenSuse Team, I'm testing OpenSuse 11.3 x86_64 for use as XEN-Server. What i found out is a problem with the script which starts the network-bride. Lately, top shows foomatic-rip, user lp taking a lot of CPU time. I don't recall seeing this before. I expect it's a CUPS driver. How do I get it to behave? Guys, What's up with webpin. Past day I have tried several searches from the cli and they all end the same: 21:54 alchemy:~/apps/bzr> wp bzr ... performing request on http://software.opensuse-community.org/ws/searchservice/Search/Simple/openS…: caught exception while connecting and sending request to server: connection timed out after 60 seconds I was finally successful on the web interface, but it took a very long time. [opensuse] Toshiba copy_dsdt kernel patch

I am using a new Toshiba A505-6035 laptop and after jumping through a lot of hoops compiling kernels with the copy_dsdt patch in the past few weeks to get Linux running well on it, I was thrilled that a 2.6.35 kernel included the repositories worked without having to do anything, it fixed every issue fromn usb ports missing, to wireless network not working and power management not working. [opensuse] Has anyone else had problems with 2.6.34 kernel?

My machine simply refuses to boot with the 2.6.34 kernel (and I'm running recent hardware - dual core 2.8GHz E6300 Pentium, 4GB Ram). I use 2.6.33-27 (locally compiled) and it works fine. I upgrade to 2.6.34-47 (or any other variant) and get grub, followed by a black screen and no disk activity. The only thing that works then is power-off or reset. :-(. I've tried all the oS variants of the kernel as well as locally compiling it using the existing (working) kernel config (after running make oldconfig, of course). Just doesn't work, so I'm stuck with 2.6.33 at the moment. [opensuse] Forwarding inline HTML in KMail

I've got Kmail setup to send in HTML, however, it won't do this when forwarding an email inline that contains HTML or graphics. All graphics are stripped out and formatting reverts to plain text. I've checked my settings a dozen times over but can't find the problem. If I forward the original email as an attachment, it goes through intact but I don't want to send it this way. I've checked the forums and such about this and a few others have experienced the same problem but no one seems to have the answer. I'm sure it's probably some setting I'm overlooking but I don't rule out a bug. Has anyone here experienced this and/or have a solution? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
