[opensuse] Problem with Firefox

Hi. I get this when I want to start up firefox: "Firefox is already running but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system." [opensuse] Massive issues with multimedia

I am having many issues with multimedia that I can not figure out how to solve. Most videos will cause VLC or Kaffine to just exit without any errors. MPlayer can play the videos but then it constantly is flashing a message: [AO_ALSA] Unable to find simple control 'PCM',0. [opensuse] 11.1 installation hang

Downloaded the 11.1 DVD iso, checked the md5sum - all ok. Boot the new Dell Vostro 1720 from the dvd - start installation On the System Probing page, it races through everything but the final "Initialize Package Manager" and just gets stuck there with the "spinning" cursor. Could this happen if the network connection is not working? Suggestions? Greetings listmates. I'm looking for worthwhile FOSS benchmarking or load-testing software for Linux appropriate for placing a standard load on a server. Ideally something that would not require rebooting into a custom environment (like Memtest86.) [opensuse] disabling KDE services across the board

Hello everybody, Just wondering if anybody knows of a good way to disable KDE services (upgrade search, cataloguing services like Beagle, etc.) for all KDe users on a given machine? [opensuse] Hardware problem

Hi all, I got a Hitachi 1TB hd last week. I could not get my system to see it. So I returned it for a replacement. I got the new drive yesterday and I just tryed it and it does not work. I'm sure that the motherboard is working, I moved the other hds around and I could see that the system at boot was finding the new hd. But it would skip it. Is it possible that I got two bad disks in a row? OR could it be that my motherboard can't use 1tb disks? The board is about three years old. Or anyother ideas before I return the disk for my money back? [opensuse] How to resize windows smaller

New scheduled windows on SuSE 11.1 are too big. If I resize them manually then the content is not resized / adapted to the new viewport size. I have tried to change the monitor resolution which improved things a little bit. Unluckily, iit looks like thee monitor resolution is not saved as it is reset to the operating system default at each login. I am sure there is a way to save the preferred configuration. [opensuse] external memory stck is not directly shown by the system when plugged in

I plugged in my memory stick and had to open the menu Computer --> System-Information to see the external flash drive. I clicked on it and its contents appeared on a pop-up window. I remember seeing an icon on the bottom menu bar that indicated the presence/absence of any external drive. I might accidentally have removed it from the bottom menu bar. Please, can someone help me restore such a useful indicator ? Many thanks in advance.
