[opensuse] Playing a wav file?

I have some multi-media software installed, but I just tried to play a wav file from our PBX. RealPlayer launched but told me it could not play this type of file. What do I need to install / setup to do this? [opensuse] Getting rid of Firefox 3.0b5

I'm running openSuSE 10.3, and somehow I accidentally installed the Firefox beta. I don't recall ever updating to 3.<anything>, but somehow I ended up with it. Short version: none of the add-ins that I depend on support the beta. In particular, my banking and other financial logons are recorded in DejaClick macros. I'd REALLY like to get rid of the beta, but haven't been able to do so. I've supposedly uninstalled it using YaST, and installed 2.0.0.12, yet when I launch Firefox, it's the beta that appears! I don't know why the automount logic is not working. As a work around this should work: ====== Boot without the drive connected. Then once you are fully booted, plug-in the usb drive. Then from a command line type "dmesg | tail -20". You should see a reference to /dev/sdx (where x is a,b,c,d,...) Assuming you only have one partition on the external drive, you can mount it from the command line via "mount /dev/sdx1 /mnt". [opensuse] Command-line automatic remounting of USB hard-drives

Using openSUSE 10.3 I have several USB thumbdrives and hard-drives which mount automatically at boot time or when I plug them in. This works just fine. The drives get assigned mount points in /media without any special fstab entries required. What I'd like to do is to be able to remount the drives without physically unplugging and replugging them. Obviously I can hand-mount them to another mount point in /media, but I'm looking for that same automatic assigning of mount points. Is there a command-line equivalent which allows me to achieve the same mounting effect as physically removing and then replugging the USB drives? Guys, Does anyone know how I can get noseguy to use fortune like it use to and not my host name. Also is there a way to get GLText to use like RSS. Noseguy use to work fortune, but in 10.3 doesn't Thanks. The Main OSS repo is available, so that can not be the problem. The error remains the same. Anyone? That's not true, the libqt4 packages you have installed are not the same as those that the kde 4 packages you have were built against. To explain: when you build a program that uses a shared library, the linker makes a note of where to look in the shared library for the functions used in it by the program. If you change the shared library, the functions may not be where the program expects, so it bails out on startup. Check that all your libqt4 packages come from the same place - do rpm -qi on them and check the Distribution: line at the bottom. This should be KDE:Qt44, since they are aggregated out of that project into STABLE:Desktop. For the rest of the kde4 packages, it should be KDE:KDE4:STABLE:Desktop or Extra-Apps. Let us know if this is not the case. [opensuse] Compiz=Bad Magic

Using 10.3 KDE and compiz. When i try to update compiz using yast, i always get this error: Installation of package ./i586/compiz-0.7.4-7.2.i586.rpm failed. Subprocess failed. Error: RPM failed: error: unpacking of archive failed: cpio: Bad magic My compiz packages: compiz-emerald-0.7.4-2.1 compiz-emerald-themes-0.6.0-1.1 compiz-manager-0.0.1_git080201-8.4 compiz-0.7.4-7.1 compizconfig-settings-manager-0.7.4-2.2 compiz-kde-0.7.4-7.1 compiz-fusion-plugins-extra-0.7.4-1.1 compiz-fusion-plugins-main-0.7.4-2.1 I am trying to update from the SuseFactory repo and this usually works, up until about a week ago. [opensuse] Mingw32 for opensuse

I have installed the MinGw32 toolchain from opensuse. The version for 10.3 seems to run fine. At least I can compile and make DLLs. The same cannot be said for the 10.0 install. That one cannot link. I get a message like: /opt/cross/lib/gcc/i386-mingw32msvc/lib/libwsock32.a: could not read symbols: Archive has no index; run ranlib to add one collect2: ld returned 1 exit status /opt/cross/bin/i386-mingw32msvc-dllwrap: /opt/cross/bin/i386-mingw32msvc-gcc exited with status 1 The commands used on both systems are identical, from a Makefile. Anyone else using MinGw32 on opensuse 10.0 installed from the opensuse site? I see that the RPMs I have installed on 10.0 are in some cases newer than the ones available for 10.3. This is not so much by choice as that these are what are available now. Specifically, cross-mingw-gcc is newer. Can I install the 10.3 rpms on 10.0? I usually do not like to do this sort of thing. Maybe they are really the same? I did not see anything on bugzilla.
