It's been several years since I saw this problem and I forget how to fix it. The --help command is confusing to me. The problem: the computer is approximately 8 months slow--it thinks it's last March. Interestingly, the time is correct. If I need to be in SU mode, please advise. I tried to install ATI ctcalyst driver VIA one click install, and it is not working. Log gives something like this: WW) warning, (EE) error, (NI) not implemented, (??) unknown. (EE) fglrx(0): atiddxDriScreenInit failed, GPS not been initialized. (EE) fglrx(0): XMM failed to open CMMQS connection. [opensuse] Hopefully simple printing question

All, OS 10.3 / KDE / Network Printer (HP 4500 Color Laser) My printer has somehow stalled. Everything I print goes to a queue and never pops out of the printer. I know the printer is not the problem because I have a XP VM on the same machine and I can print from there fine. How do I tell OS to start printing again. Does anyone know of an Open Source application to accept continuous speech and convert it to text? I've found a couple of proprietary apps but you have to use Voice mail as an input. [opensuse] frequent hard locks on a hp laptop.

Hello, I am experiencing frequent and very annoying hard locks on my hp tx1000 series laptop.. few (~ 4) times a week. I have disabled all power management (when using it, the hard locks were even more frequent). And no, I have not blocked the ventilation. .. and the processor ventilation fan is not running at maximum speed when the hard locks occur. Is there any way to debug a problem like this? I suppose it will leave no trace into the log files..? Is there any other operating system that would be more stable on my laptop.. like vis..? no!, just kidding. ;) I am running 32-bit version of suse 10.3 and update it quite frequently. That's running mprime while running XP with it downloading and installing updates as well. The combination of removing the nvidia driver and passing "acpi_use_timer_override" seems to have taken care of 99% of the problem. However the mce errors are hardware errors, so it looks like the nvidia 8600GT card causes real problems when the full proprietary nvidia kernel module is loaded. [opensuse] Setting up new email server on 10.3

Hi all, I'm getting around to setting up my email server on opensuse 10.3 to migrate from an older setup. Its a clean 10.3 install. I've used postfix-cyrus imap-amavis-spamassassin-sieve in the past and like that setup. I'd like to have email users separate from local users. At present I only have one local user, but may have a few family members use this machine with their own logins at some point. I plan to have approx 10 to 20 email users, so this is no big install, just my home email server. Looking at yast to set up the MTA, it offers to set postfix up to auth against an LDAP server and offers to set up that as a local LDAP. That sounds interesting, but I don't need anything else to use LDAP except posftix and imap. Is this the best way to accomplish what I want, or is using another method of authing my email users better, and what would that be? [opensuse] two issues with with T61p/opensuse 10.3

Hi, I installed on my new T61p openSuse 10.3. Not exactly "out of the box" but it works. 1. When wired I can get connected to internet, but when tried wireless - I can't. I can see all networks around my house and when tried to connect mine - can't? card is configured (Intel Lenovo Thikpad Card wlan-wlan0) I know SLED works fine on T61p but WiFi, that's why I tried openSuse 10.3 I use KNetwork Manager. on forums.suselinuxsupport.de, opensuse.us, suseforums.net and couple others I saw many people have the same problem. But can't see any fix? any help appreciated. 2. When connect USB drive get error message: "hal-storage-removable no <(action, result)" On google I found it's (was?) a bug. Fixs I don't understand.
