[opensuse] adding libraries to PHP5 install ---

on a SLES 10 sp1 server that is an apache/php server. I have been trying to add CURL and OpenSSL to support to PHP5. When I select to add either of these packages in yast (the ncurses version), I get the following message: Package Dependencies Problems This would invalidate atom: php5-openssl-5.2.5-9.6.i586 atom: php5-openssl-5.2.5-9.6.i586 has unfulfilled requirements Possible solutions: delete PHP5-openssl HUH? First, what is "atom"? This does not appear to be a package that is installed, so ... what is it? There is a menu option to "solve" but when I choose that, it just pops me back up to the "problem" description. It is the same when trying to add either OpenSSL or CURL to PHP ... [opensuse] OpenSUSE 11.0 possible bug with perl B::Xref implementation

CHECK failed--call queue aborted. On my 10.2 Perl 5.8.8 based machine this functions OK. But I am going to need to upgrade this machine soon given 10.2 is at end of life, so this could be a minor problem. This suggests that the Xref module or one of its dependencies has not compiled correctly. Unfortunately this is part of the perl/compiler install, and it looks as if one cannot just rebuild the broken component but one needs to rebuild the whole thing. At the moment I am a bit reluctant to recompile the Perl compiler just to use this particular option (it generates a cross reference listing which can be handy on occasion). If Novell wants to get serious with their whole openSUSE push, they better damn have a much more reliable repository. I've had 3 people today ask me "why can't I get my updates that are flashing in the corner, it just times out" All because repos.opensuse.org is down. [opensuse] proxy question

HI all, I'm in Germany and there is a website in the UK that I want to d/l some videos from, but the site blocks all non-UK addresses. I think that I can get around this by using a proxy, but I'm not sure. Is there a way to have FireFox use a proxy for this website only? If so, how. OR can someone suggest a better way to d/l these videos? It actually only decompresses the bundle installer and then starts it, so one actually needs to go through the whole step. Hi. I have a wired LAN here. To my ISP router I also have a Linksys Wireless router. As such the Wireless router is conencted to the LAN.
