I don't think squid supports proxying of mail protocols, so when you earlier had success with letting your clients access their email accounts outside your network, it must have been some other configuration that did the job for you. Couldn't it be that you had IP masquerading enabled on the host connected to the Internet? "Start new session" for Windowmaker?

Hello I am trying out using Windowmaker instead of KDE. The only thing that is missing but which I pretty much need is the ability to start a new session. I mean like the "start new session" button on the KMenu. Does anyone know of a script that could be used from Windowmaker? Or even how KDE does it - is there a program or script that gets called when that menu option is chosen? Thanks in advance Steve Dundee, UK

USB disk problem

My USB drive (an Extreme 64Mb usb flash disk, recognised as "Oti flash disk" or similar both under Windows and Linux) has a problem since a couple of YOU ago. Everything worked fine until I upgraded the kernel (should be two kernel updates ago IIRC): now the drive is being mounted as /dev/sda1 on /media/usb-storage-7777777777777777:0:0:0p1 type subfs (rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev,sync,procuid,iocharset=utf8) instead of the usual vfat. Result: the system hangs in every operation I try to do (cp, mv, etc.) both from KDE and from the shell. I tried unmounting and then remounting the drive as vfat, and everything works correctly. I was wondering if there were some ways to fix/workaround this. Thanks in advance, S.

9.2 LiveCD problem: Oops on 3Com Enet PC Card

I've downloaded and tried the SuSE Linux 9.2 LiveCD systems on my system to check for compatibility and have noticed at least one significant problem on my system. Whenever I insert my 3Com 3CCFE575CT CardBus Ethernet card (or boot with it inserted), the kernel Oopses and the system hangs (at least it hangs if I run "cardctl" to get status on the card). Anyone else having such a problem? Looks like it is the "pccardd" that is oopsing. Since there appears to be no such process under 8.2 or 9.0, I am not familiar with that program. Note that this is the first time I've run a 2.6 kernel on this system. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Cant download mails

Hi All I am using Suse Linux Enterprise Server. I have configured squid to share my internet connection. On client machine I am able to browse net but when I configure kmail or evolution on client machine I am not able to send or receive mails. I tried with Fedora Core1&2, I even tried with Redhat 8. Isn't scilab included in SuSE Pro 9.1 CDs ? I looked for it by Yast ... but could not find it. Is there a downloadable ".rpm" file for SuSE ? Thank you so much, Maura

Buffalo Wireless Under SuSE 9.2

Tried the Buffalo WLI-CB-G54A pcmcia card in my notebook under SuSE 9.2 It prompted a Melco BCM4306 802.11.b/g Wireless LAN Controller Unique ID: svHJ.7CXU6743+C8 However no contact with the wireless hub. Do I correctly presume that the Melco controller is not sufficient and that the ndiswrapper is necessary or are there settings for the Melco controller that would cause the Buffalo card to work? -- Thanks! & 73, doc kd4e West Central Florida 100% Linux. Got mine from http://www.chumbo.com and paid $5 extra for overnight FED EX. Ordered it yesterday at around 11am and got it today at noon. It sells, the Full version, for $80 minus the shipping.
