SuSE9-LiveEval Doesn't Support Lexmark Z23?

Just tried to run SuSE9-LiveEval on my notebook at the office and discovered that it doesn't support the Lexmark Z23 printer. I thought I had read that SuSE 9 Professional does. Can anyone confirm that, please? SuSE9-LiveEval froze up on printer install on the desktop when it tries to load a driver for the HP color printer. Sigh ... nothing is ever simple ... doc

ULB Gnome questions

Hello, I have recently upgraded to the ULB Gnome packages for SuSE 9 and was had 2 questions. The first one is how can I get the desktop that has alot of the icons that is pictured on the ULB site??? User only shows the home, start here and trash. Root however, has the above with the other icons that is pictured. Some of the missing icons are Evolution, Web Browser, The picture that I am referring to is on the ULB site. I forgot where though :( James may know which one that I am referring to. The second question is how can I get the SuSE menu on the ULB menu? It has a few of the programs in it that I do not know the commands to? Thanks! Marshall

I had a lot of problems with my linksys card not working with prism2 (in particular the cardmgr freezing up when trying to use those drivers..) but working quite well with the orinoco. HTH! The problem is that /dev/ttyS0 expects to have a modem connected to it and the driver is waiting for a call-in, so if a naive program trys to talk to that device nothing is going to happen until the modem "rings". What program are you using to talk to your telescope? If you have the source I can tell you what initializations you have to give to /dev/ttyS0 in order for your computer to initiate the data exchange.

Motorola A920 cellphoe and Linux.

Hello all! I have just recieved a brand new Motorloa A920 3G cellphone. It has a USB connection to sync with your local computer. Has anyone managed to use the above mentioned phone with Linux. Reinstalling Grub on MBR

I screwed up when installing another linux on another partition on my harddrive and let it install Lilo on the MRB. I would like to reinstall Grub from SuSE on the MBR but have not found info for my particular situation. hda2 is WinXP hda6 Is Suse Linux hda7 is Mepis Linux. I used the DVD recovery option, but could not start YAST as was mentioned in several articles. Ran grub-install, but it came up with options I did not understand. Also ran grub from the comman line, also did not understand the options. Since the grub config files, etc has not changed from previously, it seems it should be simple to just reinstall it on the MBR, but it is not. Can anyone help? Art

ATI Linux How-to
