Q: Besides local.cf, is there another file that SuSE 9 would use to set SA configurations? I'm wondering if my Bayes if learning anything. I'm using sa- learn, but not sure it's working right. <<JAV>>

Etherape and SUSE 9

Hey all, We just got SUSE Linux 9. We would like to get Etherape up and running and are having a heck of a time. Anyone had any success with this? Any advice would help. Thank you. ATI TV Wonder PCI and SuSE 9.0

Folks, Having gone o SuSe 9.0 I am still having problems getting my ATI TV Wonder PCI card to work. SuSE detects and configures it just fine. I get the kwintv icon on my desttop. But when I try to configure or launch kwintv, it locks up. My desktop will continue to work for about one minute before it completely locks up too. Then I end up doing a power cycle reboot to recover. Is there anything I need to watch for? Is there a way to quickly check if the card is properly setup? Thanks for your help! suse + winxp + slackware as second distro

I already have installed in my computer SuSE and WinXP. It's a dual-booting computer. I want to know if installing slackware in another partition could affect the other two systems. Also I wonder whether I should use the same swap partition or it should be better have two swap partition for two distro. Will slackware create a menu as SuSE had done: choice OS to start, Linux, Windows, Memory Test, etc.? How could I include Slackware as a option to SuSE starting up menu to permit choosing Linux, Windows, Memory Test *AND* Slackware? thanks for any help a. PS-I don't know how slackware works. I just want to try another distro this time.

Screwed up Postfix, can't figure out what I did

Help! I screwd up my postfix install (from SuSE 8.2 RPMs) and now can't figure out what I have to change to get things working again. Yes, I was stupid, didn't comment the files I was working on, and now am paying the price for it. would someone please be kind enough to point me to what I might need to change, so that I can get my mail again? Example from my mail log file... SuSEFirewall on by default?

I saw that SuSEFirewall2 was installed, but how do I know whether it is turned on or not? I as because I'm having some very odd wireless networking issues. I recently installed a mini-pci Cisco Aironet into my Thinkpad R40 using Fabrice Bellet's great airo_mpi driver. The card is working and it sees my AP (it reports its MAC address), but there's no internet connection. Thanks, Mike
