scp uses

Can someone show me an example of how to scp a file from 192.168.0.1 located at /home/usr/file.txt to 192.168.0.2 at /home/usr2/file.txt ?? Memory does not get released.

I'm running SLES 7 and have noticed that my memory, once used, does not seem to get released. On startup free -m shows: total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 1003 127 876 0 4 901 -/+ buffers/cache: 93 910 Swap: 1027 0 1027 After normal usage about an hour later it shows: total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 1003 999 4 0 4 901 -/+ buffers/cache: 93 910 Swap: 1027 0 1027 Even when i quit all applications the amount used does not decrease. Star Office 6 Thesaurus

cron uses what to mail output?

Hello all, I'm having a bit of trouble with my qmail installation on a SuSE 7.3 system. It's because the Cron daemon is failing when it attempts to mail its output. a perl script to check free space on an Oracle DB

hi buddies... Does any one had a Perl script to check free space on an oracle Database ? I'm trying a script that run on the crontab and check free space against an Oracle DB and send an email as a warning. I had that on a small shell script but I don't know how to do that In Perl. Java installation problems

Hi, everyone. I'm having a terrible day. :o( I cannot get my box to recognize that Java is installed. Here's what's happened. I installed two files from the SuSE 8.0 disks: IBM Runtime (Java2-JRE v1.3,0) IBM Developers Kit (Java-SDK) In my usr/lib directory I see the following: 1) IBMJava2-1.3.0 2) IBMJava2 (this is a pointer, a link back to IBMJava2-1.3.0) 3) java (this is also a pointer linking back to the same file) When I try to install Polarbar (an e-mail program) it apparently can't find the Java. In fact, nothing sees the Java. I type "java" and nothing happens. I type "jre" and nothing happens. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Java several times without success. What am I missing to get Java installed and running? Thanks. Gil

Hi, Try these steps: - Go to /usr/src/linux-2.4.18 - Run 'make mrproper' to clean up - Run 'make menuconfig' and go to Load an alternate configuration file - Enter: /usr/src/linux-2.4.18.SuSE/.config - Exit and compile with 'make dep clean bzImage modules' - Do 'cp /usr/src/linux-2.4.18/arch/i386/boot/bzImage /boot/vmlinuz' - Do 'make modules_install' and 'mkinitrd' and 'lilo'. The reason for the Failed to mount image error is often that one of these are not selected: Block Devices - Loopback device support, Initial RAM disk support Also try to check the error messages from mkinitrd that Anders J. suggested.
