Adjusting KMail

Hey Group, I am wondering about a thing in KMail and if you can configure it this way. I had not really thought about it until a customer began complaining after I installed SuSE for her. She wants to be able to just get, when KMail opens, a listing of her folders and incoming mail. As most know, we get that, but the first mail is always selected and shown in the window below. The lady does not want KMail to act on any mail until she chooses to do so. She only wants a mail list and folder list and when she selects a mail to view it opens into a reader window, seperate of the main KMail window. Is this doable? I haven't found any settings that seem to allow that on this program, but know it has some hidden features too. Add items to popup menues?

Is there a way to add a "Mail to:" item on the "rightclick menu"? I want to be able to rightclick on a file and add it as an attachment in a kmail message.. I am going to buy my first UPS

Hi all, I have no experience with UPS, so here my questions are. 1) What kind of software should I use with the UPS? I want the PC to log when a power failure happen, and to turn off when the failure lasts too much. That software must work with serial port, as I do not have USB ports. 2) What is RS-232 connector? Is it common serial port? 3) How much sellers lie? I mean, I have seen some low cost UPS and sometimes they can resist longer than high cost UPS. I know that half load of a low cost one is much less than half load of a high cost one, but I do not find that information very trustful. So, guys and girls, how much does your UPS last? 4) What UPS do you have, and how is your life with it? Praise

booting with 3ware ide raid card

I installed a 3ware ide raid card in my linux box today an then proceeded to install from scratch 7.3. after install it asks to reboot. on reboot I get message to point that there is no boot disk. anyone using one of this cards that can tell me what to do to boot from the harddisks attached to this card. thanks 3ware card is the 3W-6410. On install it detected the raid-1 array of 2 wd 20 gig drives an let me partion it the way i wanted to. 15m boot the 133 swap an the rest as /. thanks

Dual Boot with Win2k Partition...Help!

I have Suse 7.3 Pro at home in a dual boot scheme with Win2K already, but when I installed W2k it as ME first. After I installed Suse, I then upgraded to w2k. Everything works fine. I'm trying to install Suse in at my office. I currently have w2k and an NTFS file system in one large partition (the only partition). I'm trying to shrink down that partition so that I can fit Suse on and install lilo for a dual boot. My goal is to get wine working and never use w2k, but for now, business is business and I have to use w2k until I get Wine working perfectly (I know...it's a long shot). I was able to redefine the partition at HOME because I was using FAT32, but I'm using NTFS here at the office. Can I alter an NTFS partition with the Suse installation features such as Expert Partitioning? I tried and it will only delete the current partition in order to create a second. Thanks for the help. Focus In Enlightenment

Hi, I posted this to the Enlightenment list about three or four times, and no reply. It's a simple question, so I thought I'd try this list: I'm running Enlightenment (0.16.5) on my SuSE 7.1 system and noticing that when a running application spawns a new window, say a dialog, and then I close that dialog, the parent window does not recover the focus, and I have to click in the app' window to get back to what I was doing. Emulate real ip's to access intranet hosts from outside

Hi! I'd like to access to the hosts of my intranet with private ip's from the outside. I have the following net: A real domain name server managed by the computer which has the real ip, so I can set all the names and subdomains that I need. A firewall wich is the same host than the dns server I told before, I've got iptables in that host and it masquerades my intranet so the other hosts with private ip's use it as default gateway. I just want that when someone try to access to host1.mydomain.net from the internet my firewall (and dns server) forward the request to host1.local which has the private ip 192.168.1.20. I've looking for that in the DNS Howto's but haven't found a solution. I've been thinking of a mix between nat iptables and special dns resolving, may be with 2 name server's one for the intranet and the other one for the internet. But before starting I'd like to know if there is a sensible solution out there unknown by me. Thanks! Ramon Acedo

colorfull console 1

i lost the color splash screen in console 1 i see it when it boots but after lilo takes offer it isgone all i see is the pinguiin during boot but then console colors are gone any idea using suse 7.2 i tried tweaking lilo but no luck

Kmail and MS Exchange server
