konqeuror "Terminal Emulator" odd font spacing with kde-2.2.2

Hi Since updating SuSE 7.2 kde 2.1 to kde-2.2.2 I have noticed that the Terminal Emulator within Konqueror shows odd font spacing, it seems to double space the characters and input. Is anyone else getting this? Are there config settings somewhere for the Terminal Emulator? Thanks Rich -- Powered by SuSE Linux Richie Rich

How can I get good answers from the list? ANSWERS / RECOMMENDATIONS: 1. Choose a specific subject Many experienced people on this list receive such a lot of emails, they will 'automatically' delete messages with a non-specific subject (e.g. 'one question' or 'help me' or 'newbie problem'). E.g. if your update from 7.2 to 7.3 made you lose your internet, then write: 'Update 7.2 -> 7.3 lost my internet connection'. 2. (Try to) Make a short post For same reasons as stated in (1). If you think of a mailer with a splitted window, message list on top, and preview below, it would be most convenient if the whole message fitted in the preview. Cut surplus stuff when replying, especially the SuSE mailinglist information will be re-attached each time, so just delete it. To make it clear, cuts can be marked with (...) or [...] 3. Include all necessary information Which hardware, which programs (versions!) are concerned, which SuSE release, which kernel ... 4. (Try to) Use correct grammar and spelling I know this is not so easy for some of the foreigners. But I am one too, so please re-read your message for mistakes before sending it. If you are not familiar with English, maybe a mailing list in your native language is also existing? 5. Threading Post your question by means of 'New Message'. Do not reply to an arbitrary post, erase the subject, and fill in a new one. Advanced mailers have the 'threaded view' feature which sorts messages the way they belong to one another, and this gets messed up if another issue comes up in the old thread. Maybe your message will then be inside a longish thread which 3/4 of the list is already ignoring, the damage will then be with you for losing answers! To make it clear: A thread is a history of replies and their dependencies and therefore reply should only be used within one thread and not to start a new one. 6. Be friendly :-) No explanations required, I hope :-) Mark jokes with :-) or :o) [depending on what kind of nose you have:-)] to make it clear you are joking. Not everybody will automatically understand it, especially if it's complicated - this is an international list and not everyone is an English professor. If something is not directly related to SuSE Linux, add an [OT] in the subject line. ============================================= Hope that's ok ... dos / Linux networking....

Hi all.. I know I've asked this before but I've still not figured it out. What the deal is my wife has an old 386 running M$ DOS 5.00. I added a NE2000 clone NIC card. What I need to do is fix it where she can transfer files between her system (Emil) and my main system (Tenn). She does not have Windows or Linux on her system. I would like to set it up where she could mount my system to her's as her D: dir and then use Norton Commander to transfer files. She will not allow me to put Windows or Linux on her system. Any simple ideas for me? SuSEconfig: libexpat.so.1 is not a symbolic link

Hi, whenever I run SuSEconfig, I get this error: ... /sbin/ldconfig: /usr/lib/libexpat.so.1 is not a symbolic link ... Is this a problem? What 's wrong? I see at other places some problems, and I start to think about a relation. I have in /usr/lib/ the following files, they are really not sym links. libexpat.so 127.1 KB libexpat.so.1 127.1 KB libexpat.so.1.2 127.1 KB all with the date of May 11 2001, I guess they had been installed automatically when I installed Linux. I'm running SuSE 7.2 prof. Updated to kde2.2.2, first with qt 2.3.2, but after an extremely slow konqueror etc. back to the original qt 2.3.0. and then update to qt 2.3.1 using the rpm from trolltec. Thanks for any ideas, Matt

Question for the German readers....

HI all... I've got one question that I need two answers for. My wife's keyboard on her dos system and my keyboard on my Linux system are the German type with the "," (comma) in the number pad instead of the "." (dot). Our question is how can we change that to a dot in Linux and under Dos?
